Best English CB at the moment.

The biggest improvement out of any player this season has been Benny Blanco. Compare him v Brentford away v now.

We can now say it’s been £50m well spent and he can even do better.

He is awesome. His accuracy with his long balls to get out of pressure and maintain possession is such as asset. He doesn't simply hoof it. He has such great range too. We will have a good problem next season.

Credit to Ben. Has settled in after a rocky start and is now constantly putting in excellent performances. I was really worried after the first couple of games he looked completely lost positionally. Fortunately he's put those problems behind him and looks really solid now.

He even looks bigger in stature 😆 Looks to have grown a couple of inches and become stronger and gained in aerial ability. What some confidence can do, eh?

He was very good today. Glad he bounced back from a dodgy performance against Liverpool.

The other thing about him now is he's doing it with Cedric beside him, at the start of the season It was Tomi and Gabriel bailing him out regularly. Now he's actually holding his own in the back line.

He’s a revelation.

His calmness and patience on the ball transmits through the whole team, much like it does with Ramsdale.

How old is he? 23? I was always confident he’d end up justifying how much we paid, but in a world where players like Buendia, Leon Bailey and Daka are going for 30mill, getting a centre back who is as young as he is, who is already as good as he is, is going to look like a great deal pretty soon, if it doesn’t already.

Looking forward to seeing Saliba and Gabriel fight it out for the spot next to him.

Anyone have his aerial duel stats? Feels like he wins almost everything these days. Those concerns after Brentford in particular and long gone.

His ability on the ball is actually getting better too, absolutely sublime.

Yeah. Felt his long balls where a bit lacking but has improved on that front as well. Lots of good player progression this season.

I think a lot of that comes from them getting to know (and trust) each other. Saka for example knows White wants to play that long ball so makes that run, Gabi and ESR know he may look for the cross-field pass. At the same time White knows Partey can handle a pass while he's got opposition players in close proximity.

Going away from White, if you watch Saka and Odegaard at the start of the season and now it's like night and day. They had no idea how to move around each other before, now it looks like they share a brain.

Don't have his aerial stats but long ball wise Gabriel is still pretty much streets ahead every game. Both complement each other really well.

Wouldn’t mind seeing a pass map for them both. Wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of Gabriel’s long passes were on the ground up to Martinelli or Smith Rowe. Which he nails almost every single time.

White is switching the play from his side of the field to the other all game long, helping to pin the other team back. He’s our quarterback and he’s doing a phenomenal job at it.

We’re lucky to have them both. And even luckier to have Saliba coming in next season.

Pretty similar pass attempt and pattern for both, other than one crossfield ball in the 64th minute from White, the rest are down the line or sideways long ball. Only difference is White's passes down the line get intercepted more and thus lesser pass completion, while like you said Gabriel's down the line passes are always spot on.

Key difference is Gabriel's are usually along the floor and into feet (more or less) of the wide players, White plays more speculative low percentage passes to play Saka in behind. Today a lot of failed attempts were threatening or led to us winning second balls or throw ins further up the pitch, earlier in the year they were going out for goal kicks or just giving the opposition the ball back.

White tends to play it long as a last resort or when we’re hemmed in, whereas Gabriel looks for that sweeping ball out to the left early. Stats don’t reflect that.

White can handle being pressed better.

Both top players and form a great partnership
