HomeSteak not as clean but big Song to RvP vibes with that goal.

Top scorer in France ahead of Neymar, Mbappe and co. lolz.

    Tam

He was always super rated as a youngster and his record for our youth teams was second to none.

I felt, around this time last year, I may have overrated him because when he ever put on Arsenal shirt for the seniors he crumbled but maybe it was just too soon for him.

The way he has taken the French league by storm is really good to see. Yes it’s a farmers league but to put it in context he has scored more than Mpbaee in a much shitter team.

Balogun in the market if we were to sell him we would get serious money for, I’m talking £50m. I rather we keep him now though.

I often feel with players as physically blessed (for want of a better word) as he is for his age group, they struggle coming into the men’s game from the lower age groups because their physique has taken them so far. I don’t disagree his talent was always clear, I’m just surprised he’s found himself so quickly.

    That’s a damn fine goal.

Balogun was all business with the shorts rolled up.

I think going abroad is good for him as well, it would be easy to send him to another British team but sometimes you have to make the player uncomfortable to see how they respond. His response has very positive so far.

We done bloody well keeping him and Eddie at the club, that is easily £100m worth of talent we nearly let slip through.

Two years to go on his contract this summer, we might have a decision to make. If we can't get him to agree to a new contract then we may have to consider selling him.

Hopefully not as I think if he continues on this trajectory he could be a starter for us.

MistaT the pass wasn't half bad either.

goon Top scorer in France ahead of Neymar, Mbappe and co. lolz.

Haven't watched any of it so not sure what it says about the league, but Lacazette already has 3 times as many goals as he scored for us all of last season.

At this rate, we won’t need to sign a striker for the next decade. Brilliant.

I can't believe our boy is outscoring Mbappé! It's mad! 🤣

When is Balgoun’s contract ending? I’ve heard mixed reports from 2024 to 2025.

Obviously if it’s the latter the better.

2025, I think he signed a 4 year contract in 2021. Hopefully we have some kind of extension clause in it but I'm not sure.

JazzG Yep, thats what I remember as well, also checked on transfermarkt(I guess they are decent at info like this) and it says Jun 30, 2025. No mentioned of a extension clause, not on the athletic and other media as well. So I guess it's standard contract, no option.

HomeSteak What, you mean we didn't give him an eight year contract? What were we thinking!? 😃

            multiple angles

when napoli sells osimhen they'll want him as the replacement and only if he doesn't want to renew we should sell. otherwise keep him because why would you sell someone elite talent spotting clubs want to pay big money for. that would be a chelsea style (de bruyne and salah) move we live to regret. i've always liked him way more than nketiah and eventually arteta will tire of jesus' poor finishing and try to fit him in the team in another way. the guy is class and just waiting to explode.

and nike (and other sponsors) needs to drop a bag at his door on behalf of the national team so that he can pick us.

            Very strong shot. Good goal

Great patience not to come centrally too early.

            Balogun with another goal.

Done brilliantly on his loan! My only concern is he seems to be developing as an isolated CF, and not necessarily as a CF aligned with build up play.

              World class talent.

MistaT that’s just team style. He has played as a winger before at Arsenal. He will reintegrate easily.

Claudius - not so confident of that myself. Nketiah has played as a winger too, and I think ultimately it’s very hard to overcome your natural instincts and play style.

Hope Balogun can do it but it’ll be a long journey from ripping Ligue 1 to being a starting CF at Arsenal after what Jesus, Trossard, and Martinelli have shown.

he needs a loan in spain next season. that hustle and bustle is not good for his long term development. good for this year so he knows what men's football is like, but he needs to be in a more technically proficient team. maybe after we or some other club take viega from celta vigo we can loan patino to them. he has paternal ties to the area as well.

Meatwad - yeah I’m not sure the Championship is the right play for him next season. Perhaps a team like Norwich could better suit his style, or a loan to Spain/Germany.

Flo's a machine, but he might want to save the ones where someone actually marks him for the highlights reel. Don't think he'd have scored that so easily if Saliba had followed through on his threat to stay at Marseille.

Hale End Haaland. Coming for Jesus’ spot.

Gotta piss Guendouzi off to see an Arsenal player score against his team. Lol.

                    USArsenal
Guendouzi. Now there’s a blast from the past. Let’s revisit that conversation. Lots of anger when he left about Mikel being unfair - some podcasters called Mikel El Caudillo. Where would Guendouzi start on this team?

I think guendouzi would sub in for Xhaka. He’s played in more advanced roles and has typically favored the left side. Had a stormer there vs Tottenham once.

Xhaka is miles better than Douzi. The latter was a nutcase when it came to positioning and discipline. Whenever he played our midfield turned into a sieve. Maybe Arteta could have refined his game and having Partey in behind would have helped but I'm not convinced.

I'd lost patience with him before he was banished and it's definitely not one I look back at thinking what could have been.

goon -- agreed on all counts. I was just referencing where he would sub in (2nd choice), but not a chance he'd start here nor do I see him returning.
