It reminds me of when Conte was lauded for taking a team that finished mid-table to League champions - as if he had worked a miracle. He did it with Courtois, Azpilicueta, John Terry, Cahill, Matic, Kanté, Fabregas, Willian, Pedro, Hazard, Diego Costa. A team that had won the League the season before the mid-table finish.
It's all relative, and Chelsea don't have the quality they had then, but they also likely won't be champions. They won the Champions League, but I'm not sure how much a knock-out competition counts in the kind of long-term analysis you're talking about. Especially when the competition is not what it was. I think the jury is still very much out on Tuchel - I am definitely not a fan of the football he plays and I suspect he's not going to prove an elite coach in the long-term, but let's see. He has started well over here, that's for sure.
