spurs will have plenty of slipups against smaller sides. nuno is another coach that plays to the level of his opponents

no idea. I've been banging that drum for ages, and for sub 20m it seemed a chance we could afford to take. my only doubt is whether his output was boosted by playing under Rogers who always gets an extra 10-20% out of his strikers
If that's a doubt then Arteta getting an extra negative 50-60% out of his strikers should be a concern too. Edouard isn't anything special, Auba has shown that he is - if the latter looks like shit for us now there's no reason to think Edouard wouldn't
Gazza M wrote:@lorddulaarsenal wrote:Good start but Celtic fans have been well hacked off with him. He’s not better than what we have
he is better than everyone we have bar auba. the reason Celtic fans were pissed isn't about his quality, his form just dropped because moves away kept breaking down
You could see he was clearly fed up at Celtic last season. He needed this step up. Celtic was a massive mess too which didn't help.
Yeah, well, if we’re getting a striker in we should aim higher
I think there is a danger of there being a huge gap between the top 4 and the rest. I reckon by the end of the season pundits will start to ditch the big 6 narrative and it will be the big 4 much like it was in the 2000's before the emergence of City.
Chelsea, United, City and Brighton?
Lingard's goal yesterday is the kind of goal we used to score for fun.
Why can't we ever do that these days? A bit of composure and understanding amongst our attackers in a packed opposition area?
We just don't have enough elite technique, first touch etc.
Lukaku's really on it at the start of the season. Villa were quite good though, I must say. Villa and W.Ham continuing from where they left off last season. Leicester seem to have gone off the boil weirdly. Obviously all early days.
Salah 1-0. Liverpool are so fucking good. This is 19/20 Pool.
For people who thought we played well yesterday, watch this Liverpool game. This is what playing well looks like - not the shit we served up yesterday.
yeah pool had to cycle off the juice last season, now they're back.
and chelski became the 2nd club with 600 wins in the premier league.
Leeds are hilarious. Bielsa always turns teams into a joke.
Horrible injury for Elliot. Terrible for the young man.
Yeah awful. Think the card was right too. Neville doing the usual bullshit but that's off the ground and out of control, it's exactly why those are red cards
I thought it was Abit unlucky myself. He won the ball cleanly and definitely didn't have the intent. It was his trailing leg angle that caught Elliott.
Sherwood is unreal though. He said it was an awful injury but he had one broken leg too and said at least Elliott got it young and that one big injury out of the way now he will be braver now. Nonsense

Considering how far ahead of everyone not named Man United back in the mid 2000s, that really should have been us being the second team to reach that.
Remember that period up to 2004 where Chelsea hadn't beaten us for like 8 years?

Winning the ball isn't a criteria on whether a tackle is dangerous or not.

Exactly, the reason those tackles are banned is because you can catch a player just like that. Even if you get the ball.
I thought Xhaka was unlucky against City because I didn't think he was every really in any danger of making contact with the player, but it's the same principle, if you have to fly through the air to win the ball the chances are you are out of control and going in with a lot of force.
Burnley are really cynical, our lads will need to keep their focus and not get sucked in at the weekend. The good news is Everton have cut through them a number of times so no reason we can't too.
