Kind of smart deal we should be going after. So we lose money on Leno by making him stay an extra year probably. But we more than make up for it by a) getting a quality goalkeeper at a knockdown price and b) giving him most of a season to ramp up under Leno.

Have to say I'm not thrilled about signing a player who got caught doping. What are speedy's thoughts on this - is it likely that he just took something by mistake? The "I got sick so I used some of my girlfriend's medicine" excuse seems to be pretty common among footballers. That's what Touré said too. Are they actually that dumb or is it just a convenient cover story?

Why would a keeper need to dope?

The substance he tested positive is only banned because it can help to hide other substances, right? A diuretic normally used to treat high blood pressure.

I guess it can also help you lose weight? Have to say, it sounds like it would be of negligible value as a PED.

They need to be quite high to reach some crosses.

yes, furosemide is used a drug masking agent for sporting purposes. usually prescribed for people who have heart failure.

I think in arbitration (court? whatever) it was thought that he did indeed take the medication by accident but that he needed to be penalised regardless for being a careless idiot.

Should definitely sign him up though.

He can come under our umberella

Go on and take a bow

Get him in, he's much better than Leno.
