Yeah superb. His reputation took a huge hit at Swansea but if we are to sign a CM I would very much prefer him over Neves.

By the way the bottom half of the draw is very easy. England or Germany have a great chance to reach the final

If Deschamps is hell-bent on playing Griezmann in the centre, then they should go 3 at the back IMO. Something like this:

-----------Griezmann
Hernandez--Pogba-Kante----X*
--Kimpembe-Varane-Kounde/P--
--------------Lloris

*Pavard/Kounde or if he really wanna be adventurous, Coman.

That way, they'll have all their best players in the centre(none played out of position) and all in relatively close proximity to each other, imagine the potential juicy combinations!

Pogba would also have much more freedom going forward. Actually, I think this formation suits their top players the best.

Fun games with England's next opponent changing almost by the minute. Would probably have preferred to play France, not because we'd have any more chance but just for someone different rather than going out to the same opponent yet again. They wouldn't have brought up memories of multiple different recent exits like both Germany and Portugal do. Maybe there's a chance being at home but I expect we'll lose, probably on penalties again. Germany aside it looks a much kinder side of the draw though so difficult to stop thinking about the what if already.

Left side Quarter Finals will be great, Belgium vs Italy and Spain vs France.

I think Denmark and Sweden have a great chance to cause an upset on the other side if they stay compact and clinical, although in all likelihood will be Germany vs Netherlands Semis

Should be able to knock out the Germans on a good day, they rarely approach a game with the right mindset. One of the mentally weakest national sides I've seen. All they do is moan when things don't go their way. I'm hoping they can do us a favour with England though who, aside from France, have by far the most attacking potential out of the teams that are left.

We're looking at an Italy and France semi from the left side, presumably. I'm having a hard time seeing anyone who can threaten them.

Definitely, but it was lopsided either way. Most thought Netherlands would get to the semifinal despite being garbage because of the probable way there.

Just the luck of the draw, the world cup in Russia was the same, basically a free pass for England to get to the final barring a major catastrophe.

That explains the top right part of the draw, yes. But what about the bottom right part? It’s a mess. In any case, this isn’t the perfect design double-elimination seeded knockout. It’s a lottery. England and Germany will be smiling, if they can get their shit together

Germany are brittle yes, arrogant to the extreme and definitely not the good way more the making excuses afterwards type. But I'd be highly surprised if Sweden could knock them out, you produced two of the worst performances of the whole tourney so far and bar the biggest choke job ever from World POTY Lewandowski in the third wouldn't have even gone past the group stage. They were a shithousing side in Russia too but this tourney they've taken it to a different level.

Sweden would still have made it with 4 points, as Ukraine only have 3. But they would have faced Belgium instead.
