I think there are many managers who could come in and do a good job if they enjoyed the sort of backing Arteta has had so far. Potter remains my longterm wish but guys like Jorge Jesus, Lucien Favre and Brentan Rodgers would probably do very well in the short to medium term too. There's no need to overthink it too much, just get a good bloke through the door, someone with a bit of experience who actually wants to play football. The former is key to manage a squad, the latter is key to keep them motivated.
We don't have to plan for what happens five years into the future today. That kind of thinking has been holding us back massively for the last decade. If you make sure to do good work in the here and now the future will sort itself out.
