He's the towns biggest clown for playing some of these players over and over and over again.
Bullshit.
He has a choice of shit players to pick from in various positions.
Luiz or Holding, - doesn't matter.
Chambers, Bellerin, or Cedric - who cares?
Xhaka, Elneny or Ceballos - who gives a shit?
Willian oe Pépé - both infuriating and ultimately not good enough.
It would seems that this is a matter of differing opinions. Call it bullshit if you like.
Did Holding pass the concussion protocol? yes. Has Holding committed substantially less errors leading directly to goals conceded/sending offs compared to Luiz? yes. Is Holding usually much tighter to his marker compared to Luiz? yes. Have one of Mari and Gabriel played right side centre back previously and could be asked to do it again? yes. Don't play Luiz.
Has Willian been absolutely useless for a large part of his Arsenal career compared to Pépé and Nelson? Yes. Does Willian show the courage to surpass opponents and shoot directly on goal compared to Pépé and Nelson? No. Is that likely to be a greater handicap against a side like Burnley and their compact formations off ball? Yes. If Pépé is being rested can Nelson or Martinelli be given an opportunity instead? They could, yes.
I could share the same perspective on Xhaka's selection but I don't want to waste effort on that.
I think if all the players you listed are not good enough in your eyes, thats fine. That Arteta is playing the worse of the lot is managerial fault and deficiency. Even if you think the better of the lot you listed would lead to no difference in outcome. (I think it would).
