Similar to what Pep said yesterday. Grealish only costs 40m because they sold 60m worth of youth players.

The way City and Chelsea turn over youth players for huge profits is hard for us to beat.

This isn't the original article I saw but it is the same tweet from that twitter account, which is the same one that gave that midfielder comparison involving the 3 rings of players. They have a similar one for CFs but interestingly TA does not appear on that data which was set @ a minimum score of 75 (with 70 giving too many responses on their search criteria), however Lukaku appears in the middle of all 3 criteria along with Mbappe and Muriel.

I suspect the last one is from prior to Haarland joining BVB as he does not feature. Clicking on the table will open the post/thread which contains other statistical data looking at other criteria for the same target group re u23 ST.

I suspect that Chelsea website includes Championship and even youth league goals, otherwise I've no idea how they arrive at those figures. Also Mbappe is younger than him and doesn't feature in that first list either for some reason, I don't have to check the figures to know he doesn't out score him.

After a quick check they did actually include every goal he's ever scored 😆 If you exclude goals for the U18s etc and include just top flight goals he drops far below guys like Mbappe Haaland Isak, even non strikers like Sancho and mid table guys like Rashford.

My impression was the same applied across the sample so each player would show differently if based only upon senior goal actions.
That said if it does include all goals for all players then it's still not too shabby, and even if he's not at elite level it shows some ability and promise.
The last one also looks interesting and whilst probably not current it shows Jesus and Lautaro both ahead in terms of shots on goal and xG.
However for 40m+ I'd rather Edouard for 20m or Vlahovic for 50m, not the least because they have at least 1 full season as being 'The Man" leading the attack at top flight.

a few Italian based twitter accounts have suggested lukaku isn't necessarily the end of their selling. seems crazy that the lukaku and hakimi money doesn't stave off their financial issues, but apparently it doesnt

Wow...Son and Martinez will be some strike force. Obviously a step down from Kane, but still quite strong. Fee for Kane is rumoured to be 120M or so, leaving them another 60M for a further madness. I think Sp*rs monetized Kane at exactly the right time.

It's perhaps not so bad when it's one of the top4 and we're looking to compete with LCFC to regain top4, but to think TH can do a LFC style rebuild with Kane money and we fail to achieve our targets does not bode well for the season.
