Porto have signed midfielder Marko Grujic for £10.5m from Liverpool, who are also expected to sell forward Taiwo Awoniyi to Union Berlin for £6.5m.

saw this on the bbc. no idea who either of those two players are. but its amazing that liverpool continue to extract fees like this

Grujic used to be pretty highly rated, they were looking at a good notch higher than 10m couple seasons ago. No idea how they got Union to pay €7.5m for Awoniyi though, he has the worst shooting technique I've seen in any forward since forever plus 7.5m is more than double Union's transfer record and they haven't had any incoming funds yet. Liverpool have some serious juju working in their favour, no other explanation imo.

He is a young Nigerian striker who they have repeatedly failed to get a work permit for.

He was on loan at Union last year and mildly impressed in his spell.

I feel what others (Liverpool + Chelsea) are doing better than us is the choice of the clubs they loan players to.

Most of our youngsters get loaned to league 1 clubs or they barely play when loaned at a higher level.

im not convinced he was significantly better at juve, or with France for that matter. he's just a bit of a manchild, and he was playing with professional adults at juve which allowed him to have his quiet spells and creative outbursts without the expectation of much more. that juve side would've won those titles with or without him. he's just not built to be a pivotal figure. he was outshone by sissoko is the wc final ffs

He's definitely not the main thrust of any team. What he offers is the skillset to make a team that's already working well to the next level.
