Looks like Barca is fucked. They cannot register any of their new signings Memphis Depay, Sergio Agüero, Eric GarcÃa or Emerson Royal after exceeding the La Liga salary limit.
That is why they desperately offloaded Firpo, Trincao on a cheap and even cancelled Matheus Fernandes contract who they just bought last year for 10m euros.
They are trying to also cancel Umtiti and Pjanic contract letting them leave on a free but they refuse. Coutinho is available for a loan without fee as long as anyone pays his salary.
Even if they managed to get rid of this 3's contracts to save 64m euros, they still don't have enough salary ratio to re-sign Messi on a free transfer 😆
No wonder they have to do that weird Arthur Pjanic swap and from now onwards can only sign players on a free transfers. Time to seriously raid them
Bar Messi obviously, Griezmann and Coutinho I can't imagine too many players coming to the negotiation table with an expectation of extraordinary wages. Busquets Pique and Alba are veterans and will be on good wages too, Umtiti signed an extension at his peak. Everyone else (de Jong, Dembele etc) was either signed at a young age or is generally not high profile enough to warrant an extraordinary salary, that they are way above their limit even with their revenue just shows how bad Bartomeu done a number on them.
