Wow...Sancho, Varane, Camavinga...that's an unbelievable summer, especially at 150M or thereabouts of spend.

It's not like United they always come back for the same targets so clubs usually hold them to ransom. City move on if clubs ask for too much but United will chase someone like Sancho until they sign him.

This year's top 4 fight is over before its started if United and Chelsea complete their targeted signings. Both of them plus Pool and City are so far away from the rest. We might need about 2 or 3 years of rebuild before we can fight if they sign Varane and Camavinga.

But we have to at least outgun the Leicesters, Spurs, Evertons etc.

Leicester have already signed Soumare and Daka, they still have an outside shot of top 4 if they keep making smart purchases like that and don't lose anyone important.

Utd may lose Pogba, and no guarantees they will get as many penalties for Fernandes to convert this season. Varane is a big improvement for their defence though they do lack a real striker bar a 35 yr old Cavani.

Sancho and Camavinga won't do much this season.

I don't think sancho or camavinga move the needle much for them in terms of closing the gap to city. varane is probably the most impactful signing, but I've always found him to be a bit overrated.

Rashford is garbage up top though and Martial is injury prone and very inconsistent. I'm surprised they haven't pushed more for a striker.

Cavani carried them massively last season. I believe he won them the most points with winning goals.

I was surprised at that age how good he is, took the PL easily didn't need any adaptation period.

We need to worry about ourselves first and foremost anyway, even with no signings United are so far ahead of us at the moment its not worth talking about. We need to be consistently better than Spurs, Leicester, etc if we do that we'll get back into the CL mix, there are always flops from the top teams, we need to be ready to capitalise when it happens. I think Liverpool will slip away over the next 2 seasons, if that happens and Leicester get their CL spot then we're doomed.

Dum dum dum dummmm.

Football is about peaks and troughs. You’re right we need to worry about ourselves and our consistency. If we strengthen properly and manage to put together a team with purpose and that peaks at the right moment, we can catch a break. That’s what Leicester did when they won the league. They were really good (not historically good say like our invincibles were, or City/Liverpool more recently), and other teams were just quite bad. We just have to be ready. Opportunities will be there.

Jens Petter Hauge from Milan reportedly close to signing for Eintracht Frankfurt, fee in the region between 7m and 10m. Had really good first six months at Milan, then he disappeared off the face of the earth. Could be that he's poor in training but I've watched his last cameo vs Sampdoria and he salvaged a draw in the fifteen minutes he got. More likely that Pioli is being a stubborn idiot again, he was about to get sacked eighteen months ago until injuries forced him to start Rebic who went on a tear.

Great signing if it goes through anyway

He is a superb talent. One of Milan's best players to watch last year. Frankfurt has a reputation of turning talents other clubs don't want into class players

Yeah we have done exceptionally well scouting in the last five years, ever since Ben Manga one of Europe's best scouts joined the club. Rebic, Jovic, Kostic, Younes and to an extent Hinteregger as well have all been trouble or difficult players to deal with. Rebic is a hothead who would sulk if things weren't going his way, Jovic at Red Star, Benfica and Madrid would become self indulgent and chubby, Kostic was labelled a mercenary with poor work ethic - they all behaved exemplary at Frankfurt with great work rate beyond their clear talent. Then transfers of guys like Ndicka, Kamada, Tuta and now Blanco from Valencia or Zalazar who's probably next up - all from a guy who states himself that watching a player is 10x more important to his judgment than their stats by the way

Glad Hauge is leaving and seemingly making a smart choice as to where. For what it's worth Milan supporters seemed pretty annoyed that Castillejo was picked before him, basically their Willian.

Rashford was good until he was playing injured.

Martial on the other hand. His back to goal play is vomit inducing. He's far more shit.

Looks like Barca is fucked. They cannot register any of their new signings Memphis Depay, Sergio Agüero, Eric García or Emerson Royal after exceeding the La Liga salary limit.

That is why they desperately offloaded Firpo, Trincao on a cheap and even cancelled Matheus Fernandes contract who they just bought last year for 10m euros.

They are trying to also cancel Umtiti and Pjanic contract letting them leave on a free but they refuse. Coutinho is available for a loan without fee as long as anyone pays his salary.

Even if they managed to get rid of this 3's contracts to save 64m euros, they still don't have enough salary ratio to re-sign Messi on a free transfer 😆

No wonder they have to do that weird Arthur Pjanic swap and from now onwards can only sign players on a free transfers. Time to seriously raid them
