It's not remotely extraordinary though, it's pretty normal both in successful clubs and otherwise.

There have been so many good managers between jobs and out of work during this period. We could’ve had successful men like Ancelotti, Conte, Allegri; and and upcoming men like Pochettino, Rose and Tuchel.

When you consider the number of men with more trophies and proven potential than Arteta, it suggests that we fucked around the last 2 years. I support him now he’s on the job but our decision-making has been abysmal

I don't agree. At that point of time it was either a left field choice like Arteta or proven but slightly uninspiring choices. Poch Rose and Tuchel are big misses but at that time they just had new jobs and no guarantee they will come to us.

Sacking Emery and appointing Arteta therefore is never wrong with the benefit of hindsight because the 2 trophies don't lie. Whether he should have gone earlier is a different story and discussion though
