Honestly seeing as this club is solely run to make Kroenke richer it makes even less sense to keep Arteta. Not only don’t they know anything about football but they must be extremely bad business men too since they clearly don't realize that they should probably be adviced by people who actually are knowledgeable.
Pretty much. I don't think it had anything to do with lack of ambition, playing it safe etc. The easy thing for any owner to do, especially ones under pressure, is to change managers and give themselves some reprieve. It might even work in turning our fortunes around, they have absolutely nothing to gain from sticking their necks out for Arteta.
From everything I've read about them their decision making is driven by them thinking they know better without paying too much attention to fan or media criticism and I'm pretty sure that's the case here. They like him, so he gets to keep his job until it gets to a point where even they can't deny that it's a failed project. This is why you need football people running the club, people who can make a qualified assessment of what's happening on the pitch and the training ground, not Josh, Vinai who's probably a yes man, and Tim Cook who's another Kroenke puppet.
I don't get the sense Edu has much say in the matter, it almost feels like he works for Arteta.
