Very depressing. We won a cup last season and are in the semi finals of a European competition. This season we have beaten our 3 most deadliest rivals and have the best head to head record in London derbies.

Yes it’s been overall shit but we are spoilt supporters and 99 percent of fans would die to have our last 18 months. Let’s have some perspective here ffs.

All this safety first football would be fine with results.

But we do have a mess of a squad.

CB situation is a mess. Gabriel looks half decent that's it.
Central midfield is a mess. Play Partey as a holder not a creator. Yes he might pull one decent pass in 5 games but Simeone wasn't stupid in playing him as a holder. All the other options are just expendable.
Beyond ESR and Saka who themselves are developing all the other attacking talent can be sold.
Laca is busted and Auba should be played up-front.

Seconded. As I keep saying, we can't have a first-time manager and a first-time DoF jointly running a club that was in chaos to begin with. I'd say sack Edu as well.

92/93 is still the season we've lost the most home games with 7. This season we've only lost 6 so far but still time to break it.

I watched Mad Max Fury Road after the game. Didn’t realise how absolutely brilliant it is on a good screen. Exceptional action and cinematography. It was necessary to recover my Friday evening.

Winning the Europa League will not make the glaring deficienies is his management go away just like with the FA Cup. He's clearly not good enough, maybe he will be at some point who knows but he has a lot to develop and learn before we can know that and he can't and shouldn't be doing that here.

Any other club he'd be gone but the Kroenke's have no idea what they are doing so I can't see them making the decisions the club Actually needs.

Nope. Winning the Europa League would make it our best season since 2015 (CL qualification and a cup).

Yesterday was the first interview in which he looked like he knew it was over.

They'll be assessing options. He's a good cup manager so theirs probably no point rushing a new appointment. I can't imagine he'll be here next season. It's doesn't mean his not good enough like Emery he could be very successful elsewhere. It just didn't work out this time with this team. He had mountains to climb in various areas, I think it was always gonna break whomever got the role.

Di Matteo won the CL with Chelsea but no surprise when he wasn't retained due to indifferent league form. Cup competitions are nice but a poor gauge to judge someone you want to rebuild a team.

This week would have been very difficult with the fallout from the superleague fiasco which I'm sure impacted on the players as well as the manager. The team looked flat and don't blame Arteta this time round. The Villareal will hopefully get them focussed again.

The events of this week make me think that unless he wins the Europa League, Arteta will be sacked as it will help deflect attention away from the Kroenkes and make it seem like a new start. I previously thought he would be given time into next season regardless of how this season played out, but with our form the way it is, not hard to justify if they did decide to get rid.
