Gain, right? Not sure Aubameyang (just to take a name) who has played in France, Germany and England feels strongly about the integrity of grassroots English football and its tradition and history. He'd rather get more money and as far as someone like him is concerned, ESL vs EPL is just the difference of a letter. I suspect 70% of the players will be behind this move. Like I said on another thread, this reminds me of Kerry Packer cricket, where some of the best teams of the day were denuded of their strongest players for 2 years in a similar fashion - a rebel league, participation in which was prohibited by the authorities.

To be fair the EPL is so far commercialised out of all leagues the difference will be smallest here. 100 quid a game, no stands, tourists everywhere etc. Even the Emirates announcer grates my ears

Klopp always plays up to the fans on things like this. He could easily make 10m per year working with clubs outside the ESL. So let's assess him by what he does. And other managers by what they do rather than the PR spin for the fans.

nah, I reckon most of them would be against it. The Colney clique would defo be against it, and they're our future. AMN wanted a loan not just to prove himself for Arsenal, but to also get his national team chances back on track.

The problem for these idiots is they never came out and said “we are creating a breakaway league. It will have no transfer fees within the league. That means the pool available for salaries will eg 2x what we have now”, etc.

They never told a story for why players, fans and other teams should get on board. Part of selling a proposition is exciting people by letting them know what’s in it for them. The whole time it just looked like a heist

Just read the Jorginho article where he came out and said Lampard wasn’t ready for the job at Chelsea. “Skipped a few steps” he said. Just look at the level where an experienced manager has them performing relatively consistently now, whilst We are here still pointing at xG and wondering whether Auba should play on the wing.

I mean the recent events show me that the Kroenke's have not a fucking clue about football or this club. So to me their appointment of Arteta is even worse because they have no football insight ah the idea that we've picked up this upcoming guy, when these guys oversee it I don't think so. They've massively gambled with no idea because the press talked him to and it's a huge mistake to do that for me.

No, I think he should go at the end of the season. The Fulham game pushed me over the edge. I think Arteta’s style sucks the life out of games.

Only way he wins a reprieve is if we win the EL and that probably shouldn’t be enough either.
