Aside from the fact that Wenger could probably still do a better job with the current squad than Arteta, he left the club in 2018. That’s 3 years ago. It’s more than reasonable to assume that, 2 different managers later, whatever imprint he had has long been wiped out.
Before the Jan window we had, Bellerin, Sokratis, Chambers, Holding, Mustafi, Kola, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Laca, Auba
All from the Wenger era. Thankfully Arteta / Edu managed to clear out some of this dross in the Jan window, but it’s going to take a summer of clearing out to finish the job. I imagine Arteta is hindered with this group of players, so I hope they’re ruthless in the summer.
