That makes so little sense I don't even know how you got there. Arteta isn't making those big mistakes, the same players that've made the same mistakes over years under multiple managers are making them.

Ironically I'd say those mistakes are more likely to disappear with a less ambitious manager who'll just tell his guys to hoof it long and press less. Problem solved. However the end result will simply be that we can't control games and we'll concede more 'ordinary' goals.

If top tier managers could make shit players good you wouldn't have Pep and Klopp spending huge sums on players who don't make mistakes.

I am sorry to disagree, Coombs. For example, Arteta does not directly make a mistake when Luiz has a brainfart, but maybe, just maybe, the whole situation could have been avoided if Luiz was not in the starting XI.

Like I said before, I seriously doubt that we would concede clownish early goals (1-5 minutes after the start of the game) with a top tier manager. It's a matter of transmitting to the players the need to be bold and stay focused from 00'01''

Quick wins for Arteta in the summer will be getting rid of the error prone players. The margins are too fine in football to put yourself at the mercy of fools who constantly commit errors.

So Luiz and Xhaka must follow Mustafi out. Anyone else?

I think the error prone and injury prone starters are the first to clear out. They’re the guys who cause variance in results. You can plan around a 6/10 guy. You can’t plan around the other types.

Bellerin isn't that error prone, but he's certainly someone I hope we sell this summer. Really subpar delivery.

Cedric can be backup for the remainder of his contract.

the nice thing about Heccy is that he'll go with a decent price. I don't think he's at all that bad but he's definitely replaceable.

Xhaka out, Ceballos and someone new in and we'd easily be set in midfield for years unless that someone else is old.

I think that solves the midfield for the next few seasons.

And if Willock grows next season, then he can just come in and replace Elneny.

That's exactly how I would do it. The Xhaka 'type' will be replaced by an actually good footballer, who wouldn't be seen as someone who could drag us down on any given day. That's quality depth.

Saw something of late saying 7 of the goals we have conceded have been directly from errors - think that has been for this calendar year(?) as opposed to the whole season.
Point being MC conceded 8 goals from errors playing out from the back in Guardiola's 1st season, and the 2nd season that number was 1.

Wasn't Azeez being given game time in the u23s as #6?
How far away is he from being able to do so in the CCup / Europa Squad?
