Of course it's not good enough and he knows it. We have barely been in the top half this season. Regardless of process or not you seldom see any top club be in bottom half most of the season, even Chelsea under Mourinho 15 16 when he was sacked didn't spend that much time in bottom half.

Positive that Arteta knows most of the squad is not good enough

Should we have won today? Yes, sure, that is clear.

Had we a top tier manager, would we have won today? I believe that yes. Team lacks urgency and team selection is incomprehensible.

I didn't realise that was such a priority. we need results, and playing chambers at fullback when we're so fullback dependant for our attacks didn't make sense at all, and saka looked worse for it.

I agree and he was probably waiting for Tierney to come back before he did it so we would have bit more balance. I think there is an issue with Willian and Tierney though, think he does better with a winger who doesn't sit as wide.

No he didn't, he does not owe Chambers anything . He needs to win matches. We have two fullbacks, we need points not sentiment.

He also needs to decide if Chambers is a backup RB or a CB. Stupid to play someone in a random position to start with. If he had started Chambers in place of Luiz, that would have made a little more sense.

Chambers was fine. Our chance creation was fine, our general performance was fine, we should have won by 3 or more. Everything else is just noise.

That's pretty much it. We had to rest players, we missed chances, we should have had a pen, but ultimately, Arteta will come under the spotlight for any result that isn't a win (maybe barring City), no matter the circumstances. He hasn't done or shown enough to build any slack or goodwill with the fans.

We're a club languishing in mid table with no signs of getting out of it - Arteta can't get us to string 3 wins together. What are we hoping will happen next season that'll make us improve? We don't have long term injuries, we realistically can't expect any top class signings, what?

Could have, should have, would have. Seems to be a growing trend with Arteta.

It is but I generally take it to be a good sign, because it means with the right tweaks they’ll start going in your favour.

Anyway I’m too traumatised from this game to carry on, Coombs, Claud and Ricky are on their own.

Ancelotti has come in and turned Everton around , heck even Moses has turned West Ham around . Arteta has turned us around and brought us back to where we started. One step forward and two steps backwards.

Today is on the players, not Arteta. The verdict on the manager will be in once our Europa League campaign is over.

I thought Chambers was terrible today. He, Xhaka and Luiz were the biggest problems. We had so much of the ball today but we were stuck in our old patterns of pinging it around in the back instead of moving it progressively. Chambers was worse than anything Bellerin has done (75% pass completion is bad, that’s what Pepe does when he’s being adventurous and bus6 losing the ball). He didn’t pass well, and he was rarely getting up and down the wing.

This was our issue. As often is the case, we had the wrong physicality on the field, that was preventing us from advancing the ball.

Arteta is the guy picking them. He could have quite easily picked Ceballos instead of Xhaka today, but he didn’t and it cost us.

He got away with it last week against Leicester and Benfica, and he’ll keep picking him. That’s on Arteta, same with Willian and Pepe. If he’s not willing to learn and playing guys who don’t offer anything long term and not much short term either, then what’s the point in him, other than a few more years of mid table finishes before he goes off elsewhere.
