We are already "missing" Saliba. Instead of throwing 40M to buy White we could have just called him and use our budget more efficiently.

For mind as much as I go on about the rebuild not being finished with both the midfield and attack still to be addressed, for mind the biggest error was in not prioritising / addressing the spine as the priority, so as to have at least 1 player in every area of the pitch who can be relied upon to influence play.

Just to be clear Odegaard is not that player in midfield because he relies upon service just as Fabregas did when he was CAM. Partey may have been that player as #6, but it now looks as if he has become an injury issue along with KT and Tomi.

Saw something earlier this week from LeGrove saying the reason we didn't sign a ST/CF was because we had a 1 Out, 1 In transfer policy, but not only meaning we had to sell but we also had to sell in the same position we wanted to strengthen/replace. So when we couldn't shift anyone in the summer as CM (Xhaka) and CF (PEA/Laca/Eddie) we didn't get the green light to make any signings in those areas.

As such if correct IMO this sheds some light as to perhaps why the Vlahovic situation seemed to drag on for an eternity even before talk of Juve being interested, and would put a very different take on things if we caused the delay trying to sell PEA/Laca/Eddie and then Juve saw an opportunity and could make the deal happen as opposed to needing to sell before we could buy.
Could also explain how/why PEA was allowed to depart as he was, and even then it was too late to be effective and we didn't have enough time to go to a planC.

He's worse than Emery and late-stage Wenger. Deserved to be sacked last season during that horrific losing run.

It's genuinely bizarre that he's been given so much time. Why are we throwing away years on someone that has done nothing in the game? Oh no wait - he won us an F.A Cup with those two good wins against City and Chelsea two years ago. In that case, he's earned another year.

I had enough. I said I won't speak about him this season because its pointless but can't help to feel so fucking angry watching us past 3 matches.

I can't wait for people to come in and tell us we have a shit squad, Arteta needs to be backed with a huge overhaul (need 5 more players to be able to compete for top 4) and needs to be given more time and it is a long process and our club was left to him in turmoil.

He was always useless as a manager. First six months you couldn't tell for sure, it was a massive risk but a year into the job he should've been sacked.

Even this season the little run of form would've come under literally any manager because we have plenty of talent in the squad. Bloke's here for close to 30 months, started from zero ability going backwards. Our team's actually regressing. Unfuckingbelievable.

It was clear as daylight this was going to happen. Paying a forward go for free when you have a useless laca and even more useless eddie as your best forward options. Not bringing in a proper midfielder when your midfield sucks and it's thin. And loaning out players that probably could've been very useful at this exact moment. All because Arteta is learning on the job and can't handle too much complexity.

It's his job to make tough strategic choices and he's clearly fucked them all up. Hindsight be damned. He just can't handle egos well because his is larger than the sun. Get him and Edu out before they destroy the Arsenal name even more.

Top 6 is only acceptable outcome for him to stay.

3 loses in a row at the business end of the season is almost a sackable offence in itself.

I don't think top 6 is good enough. If he couldn't get 4th with the opposition as weak as they are, what can we expect from him next season? Does anyone actually believe he will get Champions League next season? And if we can't feel confident of Champions League football after two and a half years, then why in God's name is he still here?

No he’s not. He’s investing now he has more control. The fact he’s now completed the NFL will only help. He’ll focus energy on getting us to the top.

I'm just hoping that potentially not getting the top 4 doesn't cost us the top class striker we need and the 3 or 4 quality players we need to add to the team and squad.

I think we'll be okay regardless, but it obviously isn't going to be helpful. Arteta I'm content with come what may in the remainder of the season.

Don’t think it will Tricky. There are a lot of strikers out there who will improve us. The management will know that the key to raising is a level or two is to get a talismanic striker
