Exactly, we're a big club but hardly Real Madrid and haven't been in the CL for ages. He's one of the most talented and mature young players in the world and has steadily improved since breaking through three years ago. I'm not worried at all right now, his contract runs till 24 and we seem on a good way to get back into CL but privilege is a ridiculous claim when he'd get into almost any team in the world at 20 years old.

I'd be using CL qualification as an opportunity to negotiate bigger deals with players like him that tie them down. They'll have earned it and we need to secure their futures. Basically anyone who didn't sign a new deal last summer needs an extensions, Gabriel, Saka, Tierney, Partey, Martinelli, etc

Not sure Saka is privileged to play here, he certainly has more affinity as a Arsenal fan who came through.

In terms of why he would stay here it will probably be because he’s seen his development and how Arteta can develop him.

CL qualification is definitely a good opportunity, both in terms of giving players an outlook on what grounds to sign an extension for and the money it'll bring.

Most in that list however don't need extensions, Partey and Gabriel contracts run till 2025, Tierney signed one last summer, Martinelli the club has an option to extend until 25. Saka is the only one who has to get an offer.

Saka won't walk into every team but he's not far off that level.

I would say only Foden is better.

Sancho cost 65-70m btw.

Saka in the market contract situation aside should be 100-120m easy.

We NEED to tie him down ASAP.

Dortmund did initially ask for around 100m but had to cave in the end

Saying "privileged" is pretty meaningless though, every player in the league is incredibly privileged.

I'll put it like this, we are lucky he came though the ranks here because we'd be priced out if we had to go into the market for him.

This season Saka has just overtaken Foden for me. Deserves to win YPOTY.

Nah. United is just an example of a team that looks like it's full of players who feel like they deserve better. Victims as Arteta calls it.

I'm not naïve, I get that the promise of bigger and better things is always lurking around the corner and maybe one day Saka will feel like he needs to seriously look at those options, but he's a long way away from that point. For now he should and will consider himself lucky to be where he is. (this doesn't mean we're not lucky to have him too).

The wonder kids we've got will stay if we pay them and move towards competing for the title, that's about the size of it.

It's up to KSE to fund appropriate contracts and sign the players we need to move up another level—on no other shoulders does that responsibility substantially fall.

If we're competitive I think they'll stay until the next contract renewal at least, but I'd be more concerned they'd leave to go to one of the Euro Elite more than an EPL rival.
