Has Arteta Truly Turned it Around?

It's not about congestion though, it's about timings. Wednesday night and Saturday morning. The fact that we don't have a congested fixture list is actually what makes it so illogical.

They haven't arranged the Arsenal-Spurs game either despite both clubs having no other competitions, it wouldn't surprise me if they scheduled it right after United.

If he's just trying to do what managers do and moan about things that he hopes might help us somehow that's fine.

The actual point he's going on I don't think is valid, the teams who played many games when we went weeks without didn't have it fair. The league doesn't always work out fair and if we want to make the next steps we are going to have to manage lots of games in succession. The reality is the more successful teams play more games that's how it is. Most of the big rivals we are up against will have played more football and I don't think that's valid.

We are probably the team in that top 6 area to have played the least matches. Also a lot of it stems from TV and it's always been that way since the TV companies got involved and drove money into the game. The chance to fight that battle went a long time ago and it's also the thing that brought so much money to those involved in football.

Again it's not about playing more football, that completely misses the point - it's the lack of recovery time between the matches. Again it's one thing if the fixtures make the alternatives impossible but that's clearly not the case here.

Complaining about fixture pile up is bullshit. It was bullshit when Klopp was doing it and its even worse when we are doing it with less games. Shut up and get on with it. Maybe don't cry off games with the covid excuse either if you don't want fixture build up later on.

Geez, bit of an overreaction to what is a simple complaint. You have, on one hand, all the time in the world, and then on the other, the PL schedules critical games 3 days apart when it's entirely unnecessary. I'm happy he's complained, because it is very stupid. Decisions aren't being made in the interest of the sport, and in this particular case, Arsenal is getting the short end of the stick.

Fuck getting on with it, need to call these assholes out at every opportunity. Arteta is completely right - we only care about Arsenal.

Look I've always called Klopp a moaner for it so I'd be a hypocrite now to say Arteta is right. If you've been in agreement with Klopp all along fair enough.

I mean, I agree with Klopp that TV companies shouldn't determine the schedule. I don't agree with Klopp when he suggests Liverpool shouldn't get anything but the shortest end of the shortest stick.

Premier league has always been shit when it comes to this. You look at clubs in Spain and they usually arrange fixtures to give their teams as much rest as possible after European games.

Le Grove saying the crux of the matter is the EPL are doing what they said they wouldn't do in arranging fixtures - having teams that play Wednesday evening then back up for an early kick-0ff on the Saturday.

Although I agree with Conte, Klopp is the last person who should call out moaning from other managers. 😆 And it's at least nice to be relevant enough to be talked about.
