It's not that we are bottom. 2 of the 3 games were against Chelsea and City while we were missing players. It's the performance, the nature of the defeats, aspects that haven't changed from last season. We have conceded 9, score none, created nothing.

And we extended Xhaka.

How hard can it be to organise your midfield and attack to be closer to each other (rather than 10-15 yards apart) when we have the ball? Just provide options. Move around and pass it a bit. Those little things will bring confidence.

We have a squad that Conte can salvage. Recall Saliba and play a back three of Saliba, White and Gabriel. Get AMN back onside and play him as our RWB. Saka LWB. Partey and Odegaard in the middle. ESR/Pepe/Auba up front.

Just pay Conte what he wants because money aside he will have zero motivation to come here.

Can anyone think of a bigger contrast between what a manager says and how the team actually play? I don't. Arteta says a lot of the right things (like regaining possession close to their goal, goals are scored inside the box etc), but I don't really see any of that on the pitch.

Yeah, Wenger did too little but he focused on getting the best out of players. We need to get the best out of who we have.

Yup

Wenger and Arteta shouldn't even be in the same book, let alone the same paragraph or sentence. Wenger was able to use Eboue and Adebayor and Bendtner with some effectiveness. All Arteta's done is devalue every single player he's used. They all look worse now. Even Saka is regressing at this point.

Ordinarily would say the club must already be compiling a potential list of replacements for him, but with Edu's role also rumoured to be precarious, I doubt we are being proactive on that front.

Game against Spurs is when I think the axe will fall.
