I agree with Goon in that you do one or the other from the start, but you don't do a half assed job or change tact during the process.
To directly answer your question = I wanted Arteta replaced after the UEL S/F debacle so we'd have an experienced manager to rebuild with, AND I wanted the club to go hard in the market both in terms of purge and rebuild.
Further to this I do not agree with the need for ALL incoming players to be 'EPL ready', and nor do I agree with the selling of HG players to supposedly raise funds to sign replacement HG players of 'starting' quality.
Additionally I'd also replace Edu as TD/DoF.
That said IMO we'd still likely to be fucked as IMO the club doesn't have a clue as to what it wants to be or how to achieve it, and I think it's strategy post AW has been ESL based.
