the incompetence up and down this club is absolutely shocking to see. under wenger, we barely spent any money, despite the fact that it looks like there is money to spend. wenger leaves and we start spending huge sums of money, then we allow our first team managers to absolutely destroy the value of those players. other clubs sell their spare parts for big fees, we devalue our assets by talking shit about them in the press or banishing them, leaving clubs to wonder wtf is wrong with the player and staying away.
if douzi were a liverpool player, they'd get £25m for him this summer.
we spent £27m on saliba, but because he apparently looked at arteta the wrong way, we're now going to let him get his contract down to 2 years. next summer, we'll either sell him, probably for £10-15m, or let him get down to the last year of his deal and then he'll leave on a free and we'll get a few million in compensation.
