Put it this way, would you pay £35m to loan Auba for 6 months? Because that's potentially the decision you're making by turning it down. Even if we don't replace him, I disagree with the notion that we need a senior body anyway, we've only got a league campaign to worry about and Laca is obviously first choice. If Eddie needs to come in he's more than capable of doing a job and so is Martinelli if we decide to go down that route.
The bust up just makes it easier to make the smart decision.
As for the fee, he's a soon to be 33yr old, highly paid and out of sorts, out of favour and down to his last 18 months. I'm surprised we're getting one.
