his time here was bizarre. if i remember right, he had a slow start while integrating, then he had a really strong run of games (the NLD is the lasting memory of him), then he picked up a minor injury didnt he? and he never really returned to form. i remember reading articles that he wasnt settled in london and wanted to move away. so it seems maybe his struggles here were because he was slow to adapt. but had he stayed, and if he was starting matches here last season, the adaptation may have been less of an issue. he seems to have screwed himself by wanting away last season (or maybe he was pushed away?), but either way, we just need to sell him for what we can get for him, letting him go on loans and run his contract down and leave on a free doesnt help us at all.
