Let’s wait and see.

Good player, can we get better? It will be interesting to see what lies ahead.

Barca want to get rid of Coutinho apparently! The one that got away from Edu and Arteta last season.

Please no!

Hopefully Aouar and Odegaard come in.

Villa signing Buendia means they have their replacement for Grealish, so now KSE can provide the funding to enable us to sign him as our statement transfer.

Somebody think of poor Klaus. Little over a week since our worst season in yonks concludes, having strutted off In to the distance, Arsenal stopped, turned back and kicked him in the nads for good measure.

Aouar is more CM than AM, and IMO Odegaard is on the same levels of likelihood as Grealish = KSE intervention & very unlikely.

If we don't sign Buendia then I'd want Depay ahead of Aouar from OL, for his double figure for goals and assists.

If we can’t attract top tier talent then we may as well go with what we have. Willock

Aouar has played LW this season with Depay up front who is basically the new Laca, loads of pens and tap in goals in a farmers league.

Aouar has played more games as AMC than AML, and has more as CM than the others combined.

TBH atm I think he's probably the more likely signing as CAM as any, and primarily because his suggested fee is said to be under 30m.

Depay. Seriously?

He was one of a handful of players in the UEFA top5 domestic leagues to get double figures for both goals and assists last season - as was Mkhitaryan.
More importantly he fits our current transfer financial profile, as well as having the added bonus of being familiar with the EPL.

Depay is where he belongs. He is the face of mediocrity. We’ve all seen him for club and country for a decade. The thesis for buying him would be we have phenomenal AMs that he van help play in. Not sure this works.

Yep, buying Depay to solve our attacking puzzle would be as if last season never happened. Buendia seemed a great fit. Really want to see what the club does now.

The part in bold tells you what you need to know.

TBH I don't expect any of Depay, M Dembele, Aour, Calhanoglu, Odegaard etc to join us re our lack of UEFA football, and the lack of ambition/intent re the likes of Bissouma, Buendi, Grealish, Vlahovic, Edouard, Kounde, Tapsoba etc.

I haven't watched enough of him to know whether i care enough about losing out on him.
The more embarrassing piece would be if we lost out to Aston Villa on a player we wanted. If that's true and we get no one good in his position, we're a shambles.

I haven't watched much football these past seasons other than mainly just our highlights (or not as the case may be), however for mind Buendia's stats are based on only 3 seasons with Norwich which means those EPL number were from his 2nd season at Norwich and first season in the EPL.  What I do remember from watching him is that he likes to find space between the lines and he is direct in his play looking to progress the ball.

Here's an option that fits within our financials

West Brom have told Brazilian midfielder Matheus Pereira, 25, he can leave the Championship club this summer, if they are offered at least £15m. Aston Villa and Brighton are among those who have made enquiries. (Teamtalk)

Am I reading this thread correctly or did we really just miss out on a signing to bloody Aston Villa. Is this confirmed or just rumours for now?

We won't know for sure until the transfer window opens this coming week, but as it stands all the reports are along the lines of both club bid and player personal terms as having been accepted, with nothing to the contrary.

Can't say I've been less invested in a transfer window as I am this summer so haven't been keeping track, but if that's true then this is fucking embarrassing to be honest.
