Actually thought he struggled a little today, but still showed his class with the goal and a few other moments.

The young players are literally carrying the team, especially ESR.

When you play with the seniors you see the same shit that got us that run of results, safe passing and ineffective movements

To have 2 academy products of this quality coming through at the same time is incredibly rare. Hence, yes.

Rare and lucky aren't the same thing. Messi isn't lucky he's good even if players of his quality are rare. That good players come out of Arsenal's academy is their achievement.

Yeah I think for all the shit Arsene left us with we should recognise that he left us with a great youth system too and the stars coming through now have been trained the Wenger way since they were kids.

I never knew that Pochettino tried to lure him away from Arsenal twice when he was younger.

Thanks. Interesting read. Like Arteta’s insistence that he play in the middle and not out on the wing at Huddersfield. He clearly had a long term plan for him in the middle.
And the article confirms that he was always seen as a big talent, as evidenced by the scramble for his signature. It just took some time for it to come together through the growing pains. He’s going to be massive for us. I think he’s a Ramsey level talent. He will add goals to his arsenal. He has incredible technique and great runs into the box, so he will be able to put up good goal numbers, probably 10 or so a season

I have heard that it was all down to Paul Mitchell (who was Pochettino's head of scouting, first at Saints then at Spurs).

Mitchell also was the reason for the RB Leipzig loan spell/transfer links and more recently with the Monaco loan move talk (Mitchell is now their sporting director).
