How do they decide if game must be abandoned?

ESR is a wonderful talent but we have just missed that body in between the lines and a player that has the freedom of the width of the pitch. I am not surprised Ceballos looks better too. He kept playing with a 3 at the back and only the center forward to pass to. Arteta has done well to move to this system.

I think that's completely underestimating ESRs quality. For 2 and a half years Emery and Arteta have tried players in there and none have looked close to this good

Poor visibiity and/or unplayable surface

Good to see that Ceballos has been actively going after progressive first time passes. We need more of this from our midfield. Slightly concerning how important ESR is to our attack right now given his injury record. Hope someone else steps up (dare I suggest Willian...?) or that we bring someone else to rotate in this month.

It's because ESR knows how to find space in between the lines. That's difficult to do and require a lot of skill. Ozil was a master at it.

Jesus we got lucky there. Hopefully we heed that warning.

In fairness he was miles offside

Tough conditions these

what a let off

also felt like the initial player controlled the cross with his arms

Not a let off at all. Held a good line.

Once WBA subs in Gibbs and Bartley they pretty much got our youth cup backline from 2009

Agree. Don't think he'd have gotten a shot off if he kept himself onside.

Well offside, stupid rule to play on for so long

Smart play from Rob. Guy is coming along despite his limitations.

Hector injured, a pity cos he played well.

The pitch is frankly ridiculous
