Here are the options (realistic ones). Will list 3 pros and 3 cons against them all.
Poch
Pros:
- Has proven premiership experience, took a struggling Spurs side to the brink of the title and CL
- Could have a point to prove against his former employers
- Immediately available
Cons:
- I know he’s managed in England for a while but his English is still weak, he was a guest on Monday Night Football a few weeks ago and he didn’t half waffle. I worry another Emery situation.
- One of the main reason why he eventually got the sack at Spurs is because he wasn’t backed by the board. Will the same happen here?
- The obvious one - no trophies against his name. This is a big red flag for me. Is he a bottler?
Allegri:
Pros:
- His CV speaks for itself, won big at the two biggest clubs in Europe in Juve and Milan. Took Juve to two CL finals. Tactically he’s very strong.
- Is a big name and has managed big personalities, will have the respect of the dressing room
- Available immediately
Cons:
- Has no experience outside of Italy
- Does not speak English as far as I know - another Emery situation potentially
- Been out of the game for over 2.5 years. Wenger was still managing when Allegri last managed. Has he lost his touch, hunger. Football changes quickly, has he been left behind?
Rodgers:
Pros:
- Proven Premiership experience with two different teams. Arguably overachieving with Leicester
- Managed huge clubs and has won trophies. Will have respect of dressing room.
- Tactically bright and attack minded coach, our games would be fun again
Cons:
- Likelihood of him joining? Will be very hard to get him in half way through the season. Would be joining us a step down? Leicester are going places and he is under little pressure. Tough to seem him joining our toxic circus.
- He loves himself a bit too much, cringe personality
- Bottled the title with Liverpool. Bottled CL with Leicester after they were in an amazing position to achieve it this time last season.
Favre:
Pros:
- Plays great attacking football
- Has managed across a number of different leagues so wouldn’t take time to settle in the Prem
- Speaks good English/immediately available
Cons:
-Has only one trophy to his name whilst managing a club in the major leagues
-He’s 63 - too old for the rigours of managing Arsenal with all the problems and noise we have? At 63 is he a dinosaur? We don’t want another latter years Arsene Wenger ffs
-Would prob make Xhaka captain given their Swiss alliance
Nagelsmann:
- Hottest young coach in Europe
- Innovative, his teams play good modern football
- Took a modest side to the CL semi finals last season
Cons:
- What has he won?
- At 33 would he be too young to manage a club like Arsenal?
- Why would he leave current club?
Tuchel
Pros:
- Good English, has experience of dealing with big personality players eg Neymar
- Has won trophies and is an elite level tactician imo. Reads the game perfectly and adjusts. Invents surprises not only before, but also during games. Perfect age profile too.
- Achieved PSG’s best ever CL result last season. Has worked with Klopp.
Cons:
- Poor start to French league campaign this season. Was on the verge of getting sacked.
- Bit of a drama queen. He ended both his stints at Maine and Dortmund leading lots of dirty laundry behind
- Seems a bit of a narcissistic cunt
Who would be your pick out of these? Any other contenders (Arsene Wenger as an option is a NO)
