Now we should figure out how to use Martinelli, Saka and Aubameyang together. Thoughts?

--Marti -- Auba -- Pepe--
-------Saka----Ceballos--
-----------Partey-----------

^ has a Wengerish vibe to it, just get your best talent in and let them sort it out.

or

--Marti -- Auba -- Saka--
-----Partey----Ceballos----
----------El Neny------------

with the latter formation being a flatter 3 man midfield....tad more of an Arteta approach if he can get over him "needing the right players for a 4-3-3"

Arteta picks the team, has nothing to do with Nelson.

Are you suggesting that he irrationally dislikes Nelson? Nothing I've seen of him over the last three seasons suggests he's comparable to Martinelli.

Martinelli is special, it's not an indictment on Nelson that he's not having as much impact as Gabi. Some players need more time to put it all together at pro level, Nelson is still only 21, he needs games. And while he's not been as good as Martinelli, he's also not been as bad as Willian or honestly Pépé in most games, and yet still doesn't get the minutes he needs to evolve as a player.

Drip! You see it with Martinelli. You don't see it with Willock, Nketiah, etc. I like them all, but they're not going to save us from the darkness.

He’s got that arrogance and aura that all top forwards have. Like he knows he’s got the beating of his marker all day long.

Arteta may not like traits in players like Nelson, possibly because it doesn’t align with his vision of football. It doesn’t necessarily mean Nelson is not up to it.

Nelson's game is actually very similar to Martinelli's. The Brazilian plays with far more urgency though and a real desire to always be involved.

I don't rate Nelson at all initially. When everyone is fawning over him and compares him to Sancho after a u23 game against City, I watched him for the first team when he broke through and he was average. And average throughout, scared of taking his man on, constantly passing back etc.

But this season I think something has changed for him, he is brave on the ball and started to play with his shackles off to become more useful. Just more impressive generally in all his appearances for us. Obviously Martinelli is a level above in talent but Nelson is easily better than Willian. Him not playing this match has nothing to do with his supposed quality, especially when our manager plays Mustafi over Saliba.

Nelson has never looked good when played in the league - fine against EL opposition but has looked no better than Willian when involved in the league. Happy for him to have more chances, just don't think it's a given that he's better than Willian (the burden of proof stands on the side of the Brazilian too).

Nelson got some weird injury a couple of weeks back. Nelson would have been on 1 or 2 recent benches based on his Europa performances.

I'm less worried about his ability and Moore worried about his health now.

Okay I'll just put it out there.

From all i've seen from these guys:

Nketiah is crap. Nelson is crap. Willock is crap. AMN is kinda crap.

They should not be near our first team.

Is Willian crap? Definitely. But a who is crapper discussion isn't one I'm interested in having.

Don't forget Nelson was our best player against a good Leicester team too in Carabao. Generally he has done well, in the league he only had sub appearances but look streets ahead of Willian in terms of threat when he came on.

Oh My Dani. He let it bounce, then did that. 😆

How is our medical team saying Martinelli is fit? Yet another one that we risk unneccesarily and gonna cost us

Gabi down ffs

Bloody hell.
This team is cursed.

Why the fuck did we send him out again?

No Arsenal player around him. Two city players there.

Who are these guys?

arteta won't like that low pain tolerance. might get in the bad book now.

Bunch of jokers in this club.

This game alone has highlighted how shit our GK coach (Runnarsson recommendation) and medical staff (letting Gabi play/previously Partey)

All of those guys are still really young though, and have been playing in a highly dysfunctional Arsenal team for most of their short pro career. We probably won't be a lot better if we play all of the young lads, but at least there's a chance they improve. What do we gain from playing Willian? We're in relegation form anyway, and he's not gonna get any better.

We playing for pens here? Seems the boys are ok killing time

Is Pepe on for Martinelli a downgrade?
