Wasn't scouting so much as Wenger's eye for a good player.

Anyway, we took a kid from Brazil's 4th division last year and he looks decent.

Anelka was the biggest prospect in France at the time, can hardly be called uncovering a world bester tbf.

It was scouting. He had a network of coaches and scouts that he worked with. They are the ones who pointed out various players to him and then he made the final call. It’s basically the same mechanism just simplified versus the current set up that might have many layers of scouts and statisticians etc. I just think our biggest problem right now is lack of coherence. Post around 2015 we have not had a definite team building strategy, ie a clear playing style with requirements for specific player types. We’ve just just been adding players. We need playing style, player definitions and speed on approving targets.

He’s really good. My only concern is size. It’s why I can’t fully get onto the Angelino and Buendia hype trains either. Of that group, Buendia is the one who is most physical despite his stature.

I don't know what is worse - Cedric at right back or an Elneny Ceballos midfield. What the fuck happened to Dani! Can't make 5 yard passes it seems. He's been so disappointing. Think back now at the summer and neither Willian, nor Dani nor Partey have had any influence with one-third of the season gone for one reason or the other.

Re Bellerin, I see his shortcomings. He is definitely far from an ideal full back. But he is serviceable, and even capable from what we’ve seen of him throughout his career here. I’m not jumping on his foul I’ve thrown this way all my life backside yet.

I'm honestly less concerned about Cedric playing than I am with Willian. Everything about Willian on the pitch feels useless and he's preventing actual good players from playing. Cedric might not be the greatest but he doesn't play much, and it'll stay that way even if we sold Bellerin.

By the way I actually tried hard to remember Cedric's name and couldn't allow myself to look it up. Took me about 2mins just sitting down and thinking before I remembered lol.

AMN is so clear of Bellerin actually. I don't shit on Hector as much here but it's clear we need an upgrade on him

He is much better. Can tackle one on one, provides better link up play with Pepe and can manipulate the ball better. He played well yesterday

Hector is a real gentleman and stand up citizen. We need that on the squad. As a player, he is always committed, and is one of the few who can give us penetration through midfield. Again, a rarity on this squad. So there are real positives about him that often get underplayed here.

But In AMN, we have an England international who can step in immediately with the body for this modern premier league. He still needs to improve passing and crossing but we have enough there to sanction a sale. We need to start leaning in on high potential players
