IMO the difference in Elneny is confidence and the approach from the new Manager - he has spoken about this himself earlier in the season.
I also think it is indicative of the issues with AW's style based upon players building an intuitive style, when the players perhaps lack confidence or direction/clarity in their place/roles to begin with. IMO it must be massively difficult as a new player at the club to try to fit in to a style of play based around intuitive connections, particularly when AW wanted players to work it out for themselves as opposed to providing the same level of personal development we have seen from Arteta at both MC and now with us as manager.
