AMN was a joke - he's too unpredictable and unreliable to ever be first team material. Even though he's talented.

Doesn't help that he's just being put wherever we need a player at that moment though.

Agree that MOTM goes to Partey, Gabriel and Elneny.

But a note for Bellerin who was everywhere. He covered the entire field. And Holding played hard. Proud of him coming back from injury.

Arsenal with Elneny in midfield dominated us in the middle of the park. Elneny.

Disgraceful performance. Overpaid bunch of bottlers with a manager that has no clue what he's doing.

RedCafe might just be more kneejerk than us guys.

Really annoying. His attitude stank. Eddie came on and ran like mad.

Maybe but he needs to help himself first. The least you can do when you're team is winning 1-0 at OT is get the basics right and put in a shift. And he's not the type of player that gets nervous so it's the application that let him down.

I don't think we were fantastic but on the whole we've been pretty solid during this very tough run of games.

We could have drawn here, but with a bit of luck we also could have walked away with victory last week, and drawn at City and 'Pool.

Chance creation still a worry, but I literally can't remember being this confident about our defensive solidity since our 2006 CL run (and that was only in that competition).

We are still reasonably close to the top and RedCafe is in meltdown, so great Sunday overall!

Great summary.

Quality 😆

Being a bit harsh in Ainsley, I don’t think it was anything to do with attitude. But his quality on the ball has been shocking all season. Have no idea why folks on here thought £25m wasn’t enough for him.

2020 is pretty good.

How do we begin working on our chance generation in these types of games? It's clear Arteta refuses to go with younger blood in these big games and it might be fair. I can see why he starts Laca instead of Eddie even with all of Laca's flaws. Same with Willian instead of Pepe.

The team almost picks itself at this point
Leco
Hector-X-Gabi-Tierney-Saka
Y-Partey
Z-Laca-Auba

He refuses to change that formula in big games.

It was a great midfield performance though and we haven't seen one in ages and our defence played really well too. Not only that, but our new signings are playing well and finally it was an enjoyable game to watch.

Saw some guy on redcafe predict they’d comfortably beat us because we don’t have any good centrebacks. Blokes either a dick for brains or hadnt seen Gabriel

Lol, Arteta getting asked about how good Gabriel and Partey are as signings and he credits Holding and Elneny for their performances - sneaky fucker.

Anyone else get a weird feeling when they look at McTominay? You kind of look where you think a face should be but there doesn’t appear to be one.

Been said already but what a difference Gabriel and Partey make. Who knew players could come in and have an immediate impact (I'm looking at you Pepe)

If Martinelli picks up where he left off, and Arteta doesn't persist with that lump of shit upfront, we could actually do well this season

Fucking AMAZING FEELING to finally win at OT.

Partey and Gabriel are top tier. Sensational to watch Elneny playing his heart out today. Reminds me of when Coquelin came back from Charlton. And what a difference it makes to have midfielders who can actually run with the ball and break the lines that way.

The only thing left to sort out is our attacking game, when that happens, boy will we have a team.

Holding gets a lot of flak and maybe its deserved for some flaky performances but he was good today. If he can keep fit and get a good run of games he still would be a decent option.
Elneny offers a lot more than Xhaka in terms of ball carrying , I know it was only Fred and McTominay but he drove through those two many times this game.

I really don't think Auba was bad today by the way. He was behind all of our best chances: the shot that Willian put in the bar, the one where Lacazette missed the ball inside the 9-yard box, another one where he played Partey through into the penalty area... if he had been a little more clinical he might have been able to prod or curl one past De Gea without having to resort to the spot kick, but it was a big performance from him imo.

Yeah Auba was decent. His general link up play was good today.

I don't think Laca was bad either, certainly better than he has been. Did a decent job holding up the ball.

Willian was again a bit of a let down, though he linked fairly well with Hector.
