It's the first time since the 1920's a new manager for Arsenal has won his first 2 games against United.

The first one is Herbert Chapman.

Since 06-07 when the Adebayor 1-0 win with the Henry last minute header win.

Love that goal!

I need to repeat this again though, Holding plays and we look solid and won again. He works really well in our defensive unit and is intelligent in his play.

He's solid defensively, but still isn't good enough with the ball at his feet for how Arteta wants us to play. Slow and cumbersome, passes not crisp enough.

For a third option CB he's alright. Hopefully he can stay fit. Anything to keep Mustafi as far away from playing as possible.

Yep, but not a surprise we always lose with Mustafi and win with Holding. Working as a unit and game intelligence in defence is very important. As long as Mustafi doesn't play we always have a chance in any match.

Was great seeing how angry it made Lindelof too.

Such a consistent player and a very hard worker.

We are 8th but we’ve had such a tough schedule. I’m not stressed yet. This game, the Sheffield 2nd half, and the Leicester 1st half showed us building on the defensive foundation. We aren’t scoring freely, but it will come soon hopefully.

The goals will only flow if we sign two good attackers. You can talk tactics all you want but we look strong defensively because of Gabriel and Partey.

We will look better offensively when we stop buying Chelsea shitbags and sign two quality attackers to replace Laca/Willian/Pepe/Nketiah.

Partey is elite. His understanding of where to position himself on the pitch is outstanding. We just haven't had that since Gilberto.

I also think Holding deserves more love than he is getting. Gabriel is incredible but not always on point in his positioning. He will be there in the defensive highlights but I really thought Holding had an outstanding match.

Put AMN to shame who came on fresh and looked uninterested

I don't think we were fantastic but on the whole we've been pretty solid during this very tough run of games.

We could have drawn here, but with a bit of luck we also could have walked away with victory last week, and drawn at City and 'Pool.

Chance creation still a worry, but I literally can't remember being this confident about our defensive solidity since our 2006 CL run (and that was only in that competition).

We are still reasonably close to the top and RedCafe is in meltdown, so great Sunday overall!

Elneny has been excellent this season.

Plays with responsibility and has a sensible athletic approach. Him and Partey look a good combo

Look forward to seeing Martinelli integrated in to the first eleven

Sir Robert Holding had an excellent game too

AMN played for manU in the last minute. Gave the ball away twice in really stupid circumstances.

Good awareness from the rest of the defense saved us from conceding due to his errors.

AMN was a joke - he's too unpredictable and unreliable to ever be first team material. Even though he's talented.

People say he has improved immensely but Fred is still the most pointless football player I've ever seen. Good at nothing in either end, just a body in the middle of the park that the ball sometimes randomly hits before it bounces off somewhere else.
