Didn’t stop em with Willian, and he’s not close to class.

He looked like the hunger was gona  bit when he was nearling the end at spurs. He's been a regual first teamer for 10 seasons +100 international caps. Did he look really up for it in italy or has be continued to look a bit flat?

Imagine losing your hunger after winning nothing at all. 😆

No thanks on eriksen. I don't think he recaptures his previous form, and he was already somewhat up and down even at his besr

There was never any appetite to begin with. We can’t keep taking retirees. Why not just play Ozil

There's definite benefits to the deal but I think we need to start rejecting opportunistic deals and go for players we actively want.

Unless we can get our top targets, we should just power through Jan and plan for the summer.

It goes back to the issue of squad balance, Goon. There is no problem with retaining an older top athlete like Aubameyang. But it is a problem when you are continually filling the club with older players. We need as a general rule to be buying quality players who are entering their peak. Adding Eriksen to Willian etc., skews too much the other way.

In theory you'd be swapping Eriksen for Xhaka who are both the same age profile, but yeah even then I'd still avoid it. The summer represents a great opportunity to re-balance the side. Ozil, Mustafi, Sokratis, Luiz out the door, all will be 29+. Ideally we can shift Laca and Kolasinac too. That's about 900k a week on wages saved too on 6 players who contribute nothing. Use that to get just 1 player in their prime or entering their prime and we'll be better off.

Wow never thought I would see you saying Eriksen as a class player. So used to you shitting on him 😆

Don’t want - too much mileage on the clock.

Plus he’s had a hair transplant

He's well overrated in England but he's definitely a good player, I don't think that's a contradiction. He's almost 29 though, looks like he's 58, and he hasn't been great in Italy. His profile is all wrong.

All of this.

Use next summer to gut the squad, and bring in guys who have super potential and rebalance the wage situation.

I modestly enjoy Eriksen's play, probably because I think he's modeled a lot of his game on Özil. However to that point he's a btec Özil and I mean the current Özil. Would rather he come back to fore than us wasting effort on such recruitment.

Bell is on fire. Says Partey deal was decided long ago and club already set aside funds for him without needing to sell any players.

Also says we wanted to sign Aouar with Partey but Aouar deal depended on us selling one or two players which didn't happen.

Says we will go back for Aouar in the summer and Szobo in January.

All of this is good news and something I can get behind. Also makes sense if you look at the profile of cash flow that comes of next year. Hopefully, Arteta can make progress before Aouar comes. Those moves would get us near the finished product although Aubameyang would have about 2 years left in him

We have goals. We just need to get the ball up the field and keep it up there.
And retire Lacazette.

I disagree. Our forwards including Auba are too easily snuffed out

Yep they're all physically powderpuff/flimsy in some way. Look at all our rivals' startimg forwards.

Everything is weak and lacks aggression.
