For the starting 11, a physical defensive midfielder, a creative attacking midfielder, and an athletic right back. After that we can start thinking about the second 11 / squad depth.

2 x CM & 1 x CF. Those positions need urgently addressing, getting two out of those three positions done in January would be incredible but unlikely as well. Options are much more limited for us

I reckon they're too good to not go up and they know it. Selling him for 15-20 million in January isn't bad business at all for a Championship player in this market, and it leaves them with more money and time to pursue longterm solutions in the summer. They can find an able replacement too without problem. We could maybe loan them one. Let them have Willock or Nelson for a few months, both could do with playing time.

I thought he is the anti-Ceballos? I haven't seen him except for 1-2 YT videos, but the sense I got was that he was more Torreira / Guendouzi Mk II - lots of running around but not doing much.

but also saying Arteta needs to sell before he can buy, which IMO is down to the TD to make happen and not the manager, but also means we are more likely to see a repeat of last summer when we failed to purge the squad as needed.
If so then I fear the season, and Arteta/Edu by extension, is f*cked, but we will also likely retain Arteta beyond Lampard being sacked and Tuchel joining CFC, and then we'll look to bring in Rafa in the summer to work with what remains of the current squad as part of our long term recovery strategy - at which point I'll stop watching football until this club gets serious about it again.

I watch him a lot, he is the spanish John McGinn, except that he can't shoot as well.

Couldn't agree more. For 15-20M, easily worth the punt in my view and we can always look for another option in the summer if that doesn't work out.

Watched a bit more of Joan Jordan and I’m coming round to the idea. He’s more direct than Ceballos and more mobile.

Love the spin he puts on his deliveries. Would compliment Partey well.
