For footballing reasons alone surely you'd buy competition for him and letting go of Elneny instead of selling Partey.
That there's no title challenge with him barring am injury free season tells you that he is good enough but the next in line isn't.
Exactly. Tomiyasu being injured barely matters because we have White there instead of Cedric now. We need a similar situation in midfield.

Thing about Partey for me, and I know this has been discussed at length and led to some heat on here, but he was credibly accused of rape over the summer and a lot of material came out showing he's a waster and a rotten character. Sadly he's also a good footballer but he's someone Arsenal needs to find a way to cut ties with in my opinion, as it should with any player in such a scenario. I appreciate that it's too late for Arsenal not to seem as cynical as it does, especially given the lack of attention to any sort of midfielder search in summer, and also understand there might be legal issues with consequences to Partey in the situation, but ... credible to you.

credible to you.
Also to the police, but I guess you know better.
Wouldn't begrudge Meatwad for not trusting the police. Isn't he a black man living in America?
(not that it doesn't seem clear in Partey's case that he did it, because it does)
Real slow news day/week. Recycling stories from 6 weeks ago.
October 1st can’t come sooner!

It's a rape accusation. it's more likely to be credible than not. Only a crazy woman would go around claiming falsehoods
Hence the parenthesis.
😆 Meatwad fan fiction. Guy can decide what he thinks for himself and why.
Hence "wouldn't".
😆
The victim is also black by the way..

oh really (and one could easily come to the conclusion that this woman is crazy). when i was in cali this promising high school football (american) player and future USC trojan (during the pete caroll days when they were the best in the land) had his life ruined on some fake rape accusation. after he served like 6 years in prison and his athletic future over she comes talking about how she made it all up. black men in america have been killed over made up bullshit for decades. i'm not down with the "believe women" regardless bull. i believe what you can prove. you all can believe what you want and i'll reserve my pitchfork until he's proven guilty.
Best performance of the season and 2nd best Arsenal performance after City at home last year.
Was absolutely immense. Needs to do in smaller games as well these big ones.
Best player on the pitch today imo.
Makes his injury issues all the more annoying.. hopefully we can get someone versatile in Jan who can play multiple midfield roles as squad depth will no doubt be tested significantly over the season
The goal would have really helped. It wasn't like he was struggling before the goal but the confidence and relief it must have given him made a big difference.

Douglas Luiz of Villa still seems to be in our sights. I read he still hasn’t signed a contract with them so it’s likely they will be looking to cash in in January, and we can (should be able to) get him for even cheaper than the 25m we offered in the summer.
Yeah.. he has apparently played the 8 role as well as the 6 quite a bit.. No idea to what level but we are going to need more quality competition/cover for both areas over the season.
I've watched the replay about 3 or 4 times now and he was pretty much perfect against Tottenham. Superb stuff from the Ghanaian.
So they're either taking their time building a robust case, or they're really struggling. But there's a there there.
