There's a degree of retreading old ground here - some saw Xhaka's contract renewal as a ringing endorsement of the player as opposed to protecting his value.
The fact that we've been consistently linked to Xhaka replacements gives me confidence that we're looking to replace him, even if it hasn't been the immediate priority.
