He plays almost as a 10 for ghana, and basically has to do everything as he's their best player. Given the lack of creativity we've had in central areas, your would suspect he'll be given license to try and make things happen in the final 3rd. The only thing we haven't really seen from him is if he can make well timed runs into the box. And if he can, who do we have that can pick out those runs. Given how strict arteta has been with positioning and spacing, I'll be interested to see if he's tasked with staying behind the ball or getting forward at every opprtunity to create overloads. I'm not expecting the freedom that was granted to ramsey for example
My concern is partey is so good at beating the press in deep areas, and that's such a valuable skill in the current landscape of pressy mc-high press, im hesitant to play him ahead of the ball and leave xhaka as the guy being tasked to break the passing lines in deep areas. My feeling is as partey becomes more and more our primary distributor, the more we'll see just how redundant xhaka is
