That guendouzi deal is crap, but i always felt the market for him wasn't as big as people assumed. Knowing that idiot he'll go alienate the coach because he thinks he too good for hertha, and come back next summer worth less

When Milan signed Tonali for €10m+€15m, we were always fucked. That set a marker for how much you should be paying for high quality young central midfielder.

It’s been a very tight market. Chelsea have 3 of the 7 most expensive transfers this summer (Chilwell, Werner and Havertz) and 2 of the other transfers don’t count because they were an accounting sham between Juventus and Barcelona (Arthur/Pjanic).

So I’m in a somewhat forgiving mood for moves made this summer.

Juninho confirming that Barcelona have a deal in place to sign Depay.

Also confirms that Lyon are still in negotiations to sell JRA to Hertha Berlin and says that the player has made his position untenable at the club.

Seems quite a few players and agents underestimated the depressed gridlock this window would become

And fans too. So all these fans talking about protests etc need to chill the fuck out. There’s an economic crisis and a bunch of these football clubs are far from being in the clear. With Europe surging again, and no crowds in sight, I really wouldn’t be surprised if we have financial contagion starting in a place like Spain

and you! lest it be Lemar Eve.

Guess I'm not working today. Just waiting for some good news.

Unbelievable, cannot fucking believe we are letting Gunnersaurus go.

Guys time to shut this thread.

Nothing will happen today, save yourselves time and stress.

I’m taking a short Arsenal sabbatical! See you for Man City away!

You would think you lot would paypal me something from time to time, for the amount of work I do around here, but no, I have to have a stupid job on top of this. I mean, I almost wished the Aouar deal into existence, from shit ITK to shit source to Fabrizio and others.

Ornstein:Arsenal’s bid to strengthen in central midfield looks set to end in disappointment. Their hopes of signing Lyon’s Houssem Aouar were dashed over the weekend and, barring a dramatic late twist, the long-term pursuit of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid will go the same way. Interest in Jorginho is unlikely to progress because Chelsea are reluctant to strengthen a rival, while there is currently no expectation of alternative targets arriving at the Emirates Stadium before tonight’s deadline. Arsenal are meanwhile attempting to shift players out of the club, with Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi heading out on loan and others potentially following.

full quote. no mention at all of incoming. long-term pursuit 😆 in the sense that we wanted him, but did nothing about it.

Ironically deadline day will end up being your quietest day steaky

You’re efforts don’t go unnoticed or unappreciated HomeSteak. I’ll arrange for Claudius to transfer you a handsome donation

Guendouzi medical for Hertha Berlin

Hopefully the first tweet of many!

I'm waiting with bated breath on the kola deal being confirmed. That's a great deal

I can't make sense of the Torreira deal at all. Why are we giving him away to Atletico for free basically when we desperately need midfielders? And it's not like he's a dud or a headcase like Guendouzi.

We still have 10 days to sign players from clubs in the EFL. Buendia would be good

Won't Guendouzi only have a year left when he comes back? Unlikely we will be able to sell him for more than £15m even if he performs really well on his loan.

Let's see how far we can go with Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos, Willock as our midfielders this season.

I would also keep Torreira, he is capable of competing with all 4 of them for a spot in the team. London isn't that bad Lucas!

Agree, no point in loaning him if no midfielders are coming in.

We should be in for De Paul since it seems we're missing out on Aouar/Partey.

It's personal. Kid's not happy.

Man can't believe we're not getting a midfielder in. Please be untrue.

Just realised when Guendouzi is back he will only have a year left. We will do well to recoup the 8m we paid for him then. Shambles.

Ornstein doesn’t know anything anymore, reduced to exclusives on Gunnersaurus. The club have kept a very tight lid on dealings this window, let’s see what actually transpires.

We got £40m for Ox with one year left. As long as there is interest we’ll be fine.

Edit: google tells me it was a 5 year deal, so he’ll have 2 years left if that’s right.

He's definitely on a 4 year contract, expires 2022. We were trying to extend his contract last year.

Ox is english and overhyped... and most importantly he was a starter for us, not some outcast who the whole world knows we are desperate to get rid of.

Which is why a good loan spell is important. If you have 3 or 4 clubs interested you can drive up the price.

We will find out I guess. I don’t think anything is certain with contracts, everyone was certain Luiz had a two year deal until his one year deal expired. I’d be surprised if we gave a young player just a 4 yr contract.

Maybe he does well and we'll want to keep him.

Liverpool gonna get 40 million probably.

What? 😆

I expect better from Orny then to bring good news to united fans.

I remember the hype when he went there, he was also great in Manager.

You hanging out with mandem on road Burns?

Atletico Madrid are willing to sanction a loan deal for Thomas Lemar, with Arsenal already registering their interest. [Telegraph] #afc

92 million bid incoming. They are asking for 15 million loan fee. The guys that gave us 2 million so they can loan Torreira, want 15 million loan fee to have Lemar for 1 year.

If he was ever interested in moving to England we should definitely give him a call. Elite player in terms of key passes and progressions. Great technique, very powerful runner, excellent crosser, nose for goal. He is actually Premier League ready and suitable for a tussle with Mourinho’s orcs.

There is no way we leave ourselves with only Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos and Willock as our options for midfield. 4 players for 2 positions if we continue to play 3 CBs is fine with regards to numbers, notwithstanding quality, but if we want to switch to a 3 man central midfield then even the numbers don't stack up. Surely someone is coming in.

4 million euro loan fee for Guendouzi

Lovely stuff

I never understand the way loan fees are reported. We pay him about £40k/week (£2m). Is that typically included or excluded when newspapers report the loan fee.

[edit]Ornstein saying no loan fee.

Yeah I think it depends if we're still paying his wages, and we are being compensated for it.  So we send him his paycheck and the other club pays us, or whether he is paid now weekly by the other club. In the former, it would make sense to include the salary in the loan fee, otherwise not.  Doesn't really make a difference, but it does confuse the issue when figuring out the actual fee.

Heres one for you

Partey's PR guy. Probably new contract 😆

It's Partey time!
