We can sign and loan in both directions with EFL clubs, but not amongst Premier League clubs.
Summer Deadline Day thread - 2020
mentalvortex wrote:Apparently yes. You can still sign players from championship and league 1 till October 16.
Spurs are still locked in negotiations to sign Welsh center back Joe Rodon from Swansea.
Fee around £18m
Apparently also looking to sign center back Dael Fry from Middlesborough.
Two more 6'5" giants to join their already very physical ranks.

Their fans have been upset for some time over the way Partey's been treated by Atletico. The reason he still had such a low release clause is because the club didn't want to renegotiate his contract since they had him tied up until 2023 on very modest wages; some of the lowest in their whole squad. What goes around comes around.
Last two premier league deals on the deadline day have been confirmed, Both to Fulham.
RLC on a season long loan and center back Tosin Adarabioyo from Man City for £2m + add-ons.

It sats they wanted to renegotiate and increase his clause. But he was smart to maintain a market value clause and get a big payday from Arsenal. Plus it sounds like he’s eager to join Arteta. I think we have enough now to work with. After December we can determine what additional tweaks are needed.

Suck it.
You can't tell me it's anything other than trying to save face, as they've been telling us for weeks the only way they'll let him go is for his release clause to be activated. It's not like they had no idea we were interested or determined.
Hilarious. If that was us , we’d be pissed, but they can suck it
Deadline day roundup with late transfers from other leagues -
PSG signed Rafinha Alcantara from Barcelona for a nominal fee. I had actually forgotten that he was still owned by Barcelona.
Lyon have managed to shift JRA to Nice (managed by Paddy Vieira) on a loan to buy deal.
Barcelona have sent Todibo to Benfica on a 2 year loan with an option to buy.
Juventus signed Federico Chiesa on a 2 year loan with an obligation to buy (10 million loan fee + 40 million obligation to buy).
Napoli signed Bakayoko on a loan deal from Chelsea. Not sure if there is any option/obligation to buy.

Fantastic. You just know in the Wenger-Gazidis era, we would not have had the balls to pull this deal off.

What was a great transfer window became an excellent one once Arteta sent out his late Partey invitations. Central midfield was the last position Arsenal felt genuinely short of quality options in and for the club to make its fourth most expensive signing ever to correct that is a remarkable statement of intent.
Is Kolasinac still here? If I ever see him square up his body and do that bounce around like I want the ball so I can charge the opponents but I’m only going to pass it backwards and I really hope they switch flanks soon thing again, I’ll be mighty upset.

Complete opposite of Elneny.
What a compilation. Against a very high quality midfield. Yardage gained. I hope folks who push for the likes of Soumare /Sangare etc see the difference in speed and range of passing. Get the ball. Bang! Our forwards must be very excited
95% of the passes are forward in that video. Just the way the guy cuts it but in general yes he passes forward alot.
Cute reverse passes are my thing and he's the midfield king of them.
Is that video all of his involvements in that match or the best bits?
Pepe LeFrits wrote:Is that video all of his involvements in that match or the best bits?
It looks like just the super cuts. A bit like the recent video of Xhaka with all the beautiful lobbed passes that made him look like a passing wizard. That video missed about 60% of Xhaka’s passes that day.
I can't believe how spoilt United are and this whole cultish messaging and rationalization of their regression that surrounds them. Some pundit needs to call this out on television.
They spent 40 odd million on Bruno in the winter and 40 odd million on Vdb. A ready to plug in elite, prolific and seasoned striker. Several youngsters to reflect longer term gains. In the year of COVID-19, in the year that their existing squad managed to qualify for Top 4. Still worked towards another 80-90 million pound outlay. Shut the fuck up you weapons.
Its worse than that. Bruno was £67m plus add ons. Its all just a way of protecting Ole, long may it continue.
It’s great. And none of the old boy pundits on a Sky and the other networks dare call him out and say he’s absolutely rubbish because he’s their chum and club legend. The same guys who will moan about us and overlook leg-breaking challenges on Aubameyang cannot see the simple fact that Ole can neither build nor coach a team. He just has them gallop and force defenses into errors. No tactical variation beyond that. I hope he’s protected all season.
Just seen Darren tweet that Aouar's brother wanted a massive agent fee for the deal. Supposedly adding 30% to the transfer fee and the club walked away. Fair enough if that is the case.
Having family as agents is such a bad idea. They're probably worse than you average agent when it comes to sabotaging careers because an overbearing family member is a lot harder to say no to.
where?

And they've no idea how to do their actual job.
Would you rather have someone whos negotiated with nike for 50 players in your corner. Or someone who has no idea how to negotiate with nike or what kinda things should be included or how much to ask for.

Also why it is better to deal with proper agents rather than family members. They're usually more professional and upfront so you know where you stand.

DarrenArsenal1 has deleted the tweet now. Said his agents wanted a massive fee which would add 30% to his transfer fee.
Looks like Darren is being called out for that and quickly deleted it. Probably misinformed
One deadline day deal that went under the radar was Jeremy Doku to Rennais from Anderlecht.
Reportedly the best prospect the Belgian NT has in the current generation.
A diminutive but strong and tricky winger who was heavily scouted by Liverpool but the deal never materialized.
Rennais paid £25m + add-ons which is a huge fee for a club of their size.

He deletes tweets all the time, his most interesting ones usually are the deleted ones!
A french journalist said similar without getting into specifics. It feels like something has happened right at the last min, a shame as would have really capped off our window.

Borini (29)
Mandžukić (34)
Valencia (35)
Kagawa (31)

What on earth happened to Kagawa?
His United spell utterly destroyed him. Isn't the same player anymore. Would struggle to even start for relegation threatened clubs these days.
Man United happened.
I can't even remember his United phase.
Can't believe a player like Welbeck has spent the majority of his career at clubs like United and Arsenal.
Must admit I was a big fan of Pato when he first moved to Milan. Always wondered what could have been but for the injuries. Guess his attitude didn't help any either - little bit like Wilshere perhaps.

Also, 5 years ago Sturridge was one of the best players of the League.
