The good thing for us is that a number of these guys are out of contract next summer.
The ones who aren't and we need to shift should have some value like Guendouzi and Torreira. Kolasinac and Lacazette will be the issue.

Ozil surely?
Was Ozil on deadline day? I can't remember but that definitely is up there.
Or maybe Welbeck.
You shut your mouth.
jones wrote:Mirth wrote:when was the last time we did a deadline day madness? arshavin?
Last deadline day transfer I was excited about was Monreal although that hardly qualifies as madness
Not Özil?

Not Özil?
Thought Özil was the day before deadline day, at least I think that's when Al Jazeera reported it as done. If not obviously him.

Very excited to see Thomas play for us.
He's going to wear #18.

Was starting to think you were doing a "nah I always knew he'd turn to shit"
Goal.com also reports we are bringing in a couple of teenagers - Nikolaj Duus Moller, a Swedish striker from Molde and Omar Rekik, a Dutch defender from Hertha Berlin.
So, barring any late late drama, no one bar Douzi and Torreira left. Saliba still here, Nelson still here, Kola, Mustafi, Sokratis, Chambers et al all still here, baring a loan to the Championship which seems unlikely for all bar Nelson.
We have a squad of 31 players
Yep, we are wages heavy for the rest of the season.

I hope you mean Atletico
they also just confirmed Torreira on loan
I typed Athleti but my autocorrect added the C

Our dross are really not normal dross. Extremely unappealing to any other clubs.
Everyone has the same problems Clrnc. It's not us, it's Premier League. This is the consequence of years of inflated wages. No other leagues are on a comparable level, and when clubs don't have a lot of money they simply can't afford it. Torreira was linked to Torino for instance, and it was never going to happen in a million years. He would have been their highest earner by far. Impossible for them to take on that kind of investment in the middle of a pandemic.
Tbf its the same reason we can convince a key player at the 3rd best team in Lá Liga to come to an EL team.

We should pay for some of these guys to go to the Championship.
A season at Preston could be really good for Mesut.
Well the good news is Jan isn't actually that far away, so hopefully we'll be working hard to shift some of these guys then. Half of them will be free to discuss terms with other clubs anyway.
Literally looks like he's been beaten up.

We can still sign Buendia?

Don’t think so. I think only Championship and below clubs can loan players from the Prem and that’s it.
Apparently yes. You can still sign players from championship and league 1 till October 16.
Spurs are still locked in negotiations to sign Welsh center back Joe Rodon from Swansea.
Fee around £18m
We can sign and loan in both directions with EFL clubs, but not amongst Premier League clubs.

Apparently also looking to sign center back Dael Fry from Middlesborough.
Two more 6'5" giants to join their already very physical ranks.

Their fans have been upset for some time over the way Partey's been treated by Atletico. The reason he still had such a low release clause is because the club didn't want to renegotiate his contract since they had him tied up until 2023 on very modest wages; some of the lowest in their whole squad. What goes around comes around.
Last two premier league deals on the deadline day have been confirmed, Both to Fulham.
RLC on a season long loan and center back Tosin Adarabioyo from Man City for £2m + add-ons.

It sats they wanted to renegotiate and increase his clause. But he was smart to maintain a market value clause and get a big payday from Arsenal. Plus it sounds like he’s eager to join Arteta. I think we have enough now to work with. After December we can determine what additional tweaks are needed.

Suck it.
You can't tell me it's anything other than trying to save face, as they've been telling us for weeks the only way they'll let him go is for his release clause to be activated. It's not like they had no idea we were interested or determined.
Hilarious. If that was us , we’d be pissed, but they can suck it
Deadline day roundup with late transfers from other leagues -
PSG signed Rafinha Alcantara from Barcelona for a nominal fee. I had actually forgotten that he was still owned by Barcelona.
Lyon have managed to shift JRA to Nice (managed by Paddy Vieira) on a loan to buy deal.
Barcelona have sent Todibo to Benfica on a 2 year loan with an option to buy.
Juventus signed Federico Chiesa on a 2 year loan with an obligation to buy (10 million loan fee + 40 million obligation to buy).
Napoli signed Bakayoko on a loan deal from Chelsea. Not sure if there is any option/obligation to buy.

Fantastic. You just know in the Wenger-Gazidis era, we would not have had the balls to pull this deal off.

What was a great transfer window became an excellent one once Arteta sent out his late Partey invitations. Central midfield was the last position Arsenal felt genuinely short of quality options in and for the club to make its fourth most expensive signing ever to correct that is a remarkable statement of intent.
Is Kolasinac still here? If I ever see him square up his body and do that bounce around like I want the ball so I can charge the opponents but I’m only going to pass it backwards and I really hope they switch flanks soon thing again, I’ll be mighty upset.
Ricky1985 wrote:Wilson wrote:

Complete opposite of Elneny.
What a compilation. Against a very high quality midfield. Yardage gained. I hope folks who push for the likes of Soumare /Sangare etc see the difference in speed and range of passing. Get the ball. Bang! Our forwards must be very excited
95% of the passes are forward in that video. Just the way the guy cuts it but in general yes he passes forward alot.
Cute reverse passes are my thing and he's the midfield king of them.
Is that video all of his involvements in that match or the best bits?
