Unlikely we really pleaded poverty clubs try to get discounts all the time, even less likely Atletico are dumb enough to believe we are that broke. More likely Atletico were hoping we'd be going for Aouar instead of Partey so they wouldn't have to replace him with Roca who's now gone to Bayern

If AFCBell is to be believed (I mean obviously he knows what's going on), we have always planned to activate his release clause. I doubt we went in for Aouar for fun, so there's only one reason why we are activating it so late instead of at the start of the window.

There's virtually no upside to triggering it early other than having more time to bed him in. You keep negotiating, hoping Atletico will budge at some point and when they you realise they don't you pay the clause. It's not even a particularly high clause and the player hinted several times he wanted to come to us bloke was criminally underpaid. Atletico kept bluffing now they're in public with their pants full of shit of course they'll try and spin it some way.

Willock joins QPR. Will be interesting to see how he does there.

Chris Willock, not Joe Willock.

I was looking forward to seeing him paired with Partey and +1. Great he finally gets an opportunity to get more minutes (you'd hope) some where else.

The Saliba loan quest is a true bummer

Thought you meant Joe, on loan...

Dream lives then. Should have questioned Clrnc's shithousery given it was fucking QPR.

That Chris Willock news got me this afternoon too 😆

Clrnc right now:

? | Memphis Depay is staying at Lyon, according to RMC - Barcelona just told OL they would not be completing the deal - talks had got to the stage where Lyon had got so far as to send over the documentation to complete the agreement.

Meanwhile in paris.....

Depay can negotiate a bosman in 3 months

Rene-Adelaide also snubbed Hertha

Means Lyon have fairly big loss and look (so far) unlikely to make CL next season

😆

I remember he was rated higher than Joe. His career is absolutely gone to shit after leaving us, well done to whoever who advised him there. Same went for Amaechi

I'd like to see Saka play in central midfield. Think that would get the best out of him (quick passing, good movement off the ball, and can make deep runs in behind and between lines).

Yeah I feel that’s where he should play too. Excellent player with a bit of everything in his locker

Poor Jack, only managed 18 games in 2 years at WHU. His career has been absolutely obliterated by injuries; he's still only 28!

I hope they go bust.

Not so much for not accepting our bid, that's well within their right, but for all the public shenanigans, deadlines and BS they put out in the process. They can get fucked.

Go back in Jan when they are on their knees.

Think we won't be the only ones in Jan if they badly need to sell. I think that ship has sailed now.

oh man, the time to partey lines and threads incoming..

As in ex-Spuds Eriksen?

surely our inbound business after Partey is done for the night? surrely?

Still the one link, it said Inter are offering him around. Nothing about us.

Looks like all of Liverpool's outgoing deals have collapsed (Grujic, Harry Wilson, Shaqiri).

Glad that they were not able to fleece more clubs for a lot of money.

Good. Aston Villa have revealed that they bleed and poop like the rest of us.

What a fucking shitshow the Sancho pursuit has been by Woodward and company !

Medical passed, all that's left is the announcement. Arsenal.com is known for being very slow on those stuffs...

We are adding true quality - will be in a great position next summer with big contracts for squaddies expiring

Defo not happening tonight. Before the City game if we're lucky.

Watching Sky. Saying not yet confirmed.

They’re saying Cavani confirmed on a free.

I've never heard of that Swedish bloke from Malmö, but it excites me for one reason: Andreas Georgson, our new setpiece coach, worked with youth development for over a decade at that club before he left for Brentford last season. He was one of the most important people in Swedish football when it came to guiding through emerging youth talent. He'll know this guy inside out, and I'm certain that we have signed Duus Möller on his recommendation.

Malmö have the best talents in Sweden in general, although neither Alexander Isak or Dejan Kulusevski came through their ranks. I think we were linked to another one of their youth products in January, Mattias Svanberg, who is currently playing for Bologna.

Sky is gutter.

Bell and BBC already said done.

100%. The only headaches next summer will be Kola, Guendo, Laca and Torreira. Hopefully we are able to shift at least half that lot and that would put us in an excellent position to really push on next summer.

Indeedy!

Right I can stay up any longer - night guys

Happy Thomas Partey Day!

The sentimental sod in me says offer Wilshere at pay as you play contract.

I just tuned in, it's atrocious stuff, regurgitating things I read at 11am this morning.

Exactly. Fucking Dharmesh saying "don't go to bed Gunners!". This looks done though.

Bell came through. No clue who he is but he came through.

As far as I understand AFCBell is saying we have signed contract.
In order to complete the transfer we need to send the premier league the contract, the transfer agreement, permission to work in England, international clearance, and any applicable levies. Are the ITKs also reporting this stuff?

Per Sky we would get a 2 hour window to complete the administrative documentation if we submit a deal sheet (with Partey's signature) to the PL before 11PM.
