Any chance Aouar sees that we're signing Partey and decides at the last minute to come out and say that he would like to join Arsenal and force Aulas' hand? Lol.
(I know, not a chance in hell, but we can dream)
Would we take Eriksen on loan? Especially if Inter are willing to pay half wages?
That's half my wishlist done (gabriel, partey)
I always had a sneaking feeling that parteys RC was priced in from the start and we were just trying to get atleti to blink. Should've negotiated with us you twats, now look at you

Fuck Aouar. It’s time to Parteyyyy
Oh my god.

I reckon Partey was always happening, Aouar was just a potential bonus with leftovers. Probably why we never really went all that high with a bid. Convinced if we had better luck selling we'd have gotten both.
Or.....
we were always chasing Aouar with Partey as a fallback. It actually makes sense if we were never sure we could afford both. We chase Aouar. When Aulas spins his bullshit we go after Partey and work out the financing. It works because the Partey deal has clearer parameters. You know what you are getting and can execute it immediately.
Campbell and Vieira finally replaced. Only took 15 years.
Gabriel and Partey, we move!

Doesn’t make sense. They get full value. They did the right thing. And they’ve secured their cheap replacement

It's really lame that he has Thomas on his shirt. Maybe the PR guys at Arsenal can convince him that Partey will sell more.
I hope we sign Partey and cancel the Torreria deal.
Partey is a dream signing. Holy fuck!
We move.
Partey is ON! Fuck.

Possibly, but there's a couple of things that wouldn't add up with this theory. Firstly, we never went anywhere near that high for Aouar according to reports (no way Lyon reject anything close to a front loaded £45m bid), which doesn't really add up if he was first choice. Secondly they're completely different players, so it would be an odd alternative.

Honestly if this goes through it'd be unbelievable considering we were wasting so much time on Aouar. Genuine World Class player.
Gunnersaurus is in high demand in Europe:
Hope this doesn't turn out like the Suarez transfer.

I think we wanted both but needed to get more sales over the line to make it happen. So then it was a who can we get and at what price situation.
OMG it's happening? Hahahaha we have fucked them over dearly leaving them no time for replacements. And also made sure they have to take Torreira on loan and not wait for someone to come in for Herrera
YES
I love the fucking bell, he has been saying that all summer

As Qs said, we probably wanted both but that would’ve required shifting tons of players.
As for the different values - if you have alternatives you don’t have to price them equally. You always have to pay what you think they are worth intrinsically. So that’s how you can explain different valuations.
Either way, if this happens, I’m happy. It’s more or less within expectations for what we were going to do.
If it had to be one of the two, if was probably Partey. Financial terms for Auour would have been more favorable as we wouldn't be paying up front. We could have pushed the envelope on that deal more from a cash flow perspective but we are going for Partey. This is great.
If Partey is happening we definitely wanted both. We made an official move for Aouar but bell also says we always wanted to activate Partey clause.
I think the scenario I guessed previously worked out for us. We don't want to show Europe we got the money by activating the clause early, so as to allow us to do all the other deals. Now that all the deals have failed its doesn't matter if we activate the clause now.

LOL. You never liked Aouar.
But this guy will immediately take us up another level. No settling in period. The thing with Aouar is I believe he will have a king and excellent career (like a Silva). But he might frustrate for another few months, and there’s no patience at Arsenal anymore. Partey will be ready within the month to inject pace and power in the midfield. We can finally make sense. Look like men.
All the journalists, including Ornstein, crediting Bell, what am I seeing

Conrad Harrison has also been adamant this was happening.
Edit: Fidn't realize until now that Conrad Harrison is The Plug. Had completely forgotten about that guy

That fraud said Aouar was also done. Spray and pray.
Goon, you been banging the Bell all summer. You sure you ain't him?

The reason you keep the Partey option alive all summer is more likely to display to Aulas that you have alternative places to put your money. Especially as he had no alternative buyers. Aulas really fucked up. But I think we have the better deal for the immediate future, which is what is most important for Arteta. He cannot afford to fuck up. He needs to do well for Arsenal and himself.

I'll admit I wasn't his biggest fan haha but it's not like I didn't like him at all. He has some nice things going for him but not enough plus points to justify a 40m+ move. Partey on the other hand,

Partey, at least in the immediate term, is on another level. The guy will transform our midfield.
Partey is happening?! Incredible! I had always hoped this was what the club had in mind all summer, but wow. Just wow!
Gabriel and Partey would have been top of my wishlist at the start of the window. What a dream pair to add to this team!

Ever since that EL game against us the guy was wishlist material. Still can't believe we can get a player on this level.
PR team called in a favor to Kroenke after the public's reaction to Gunnersauras being let go

Partey and Ricky in the same day? What a deadline day 2020 going to be hard to top.

Partey agent knew we would be activating the clause way before any scoop appeared hence that hourglass tweet. I think this was always in the plans for a last min move regardless other deals are alive or dead. This way we won't be fleeced like United style.
Let's celebrate the signing but I still think we need one more attacking midfielder at least. Eriksen on loan would be brilliant Partey himself won't be enough

Fulham deal is dead too, they have decided to opt for Joachim Anderson, the defender who was so heavily linked with us last summer.
