I sure hope so because if they saw him and passed up on him that'd be even worse. Massive upside for peanuts even if he didn't work out we could have recouped the fee and even if we hadn't it wouldn't matter.
On a serious note I think it's entirely possible the club never had him on their radar. The way the club's been operating in Wengers last years was shocking
