So he can provide something we currently lack in our initial transition, and he doesn't dwell on the ball so that's another plus along with his interceptions = he can replace the best aspects of both Xhaka and Elneny.

Not on loan anyway. Makes sense for them to sell for cash after they've spent so much this season. I really don't see them letting us having him this late anyway, he started yesterday and was let take two penalties. Doesn't look like a player who's about to leave.

Maybe. Question for you. Would you rather:

1) Sign Jorgihno which would allow Chelsea to sign Parety.

2) Don’t sign Jorginho and Chelsea don’t sign Partey.

I think I would go for number 2.

Panic buying begets more panic buying. And this particular panic buy doesn't move the needle for us at all

2 years of Ceballos on loan and 1 year of Jorginho on loan, all the while with Xhaka plodding about feels like tons of hours lost in building a midfield identity. But rather that than overspend on the wrong idiots.

Loaning Jorginho with an option to buy is a smart move after we signed Aouar and Partey.

How does jorginho get us closer to CL football? You seem to have a high opinion on him - what does he actually add to us, because I'm struggling to see where he fits in with the current crop, regardless of formation

He's a big upgrade on Xhaka. Still leaves us a man short. That's the problem. Maybe if we'd punted on Doucoure we'd be good to go with a bargain basement summer midfield
