Jorginho or elneny?

An injury to xhaka isn't unthinkable. Dani going off the boil isn't unthinkable either he seems to really want to be in Spain and he really struggled over winter last year. If they're thick enough to give us Jorginho on loan we should jump at the chance.

You're still on about this despite him turning down offers in Spain and pushing to come back here?

So they can get Rice. We are waste disposal for Chelsea. It started with alleged saboteur Gallas. And has gone onto include Benayoun, Cech and now this generation of pensioners.

Benayoun was class for us.

Dani was our most influential player other than Aubameyang in the post lockdown period of last season. Arteta sweet talked him back to life. He’s a high quality player. We just need to make sure the combinations are right to get the most out of him.
I do worry how we are going to set up the starting line-up if we get just Aouar. Aouar, Xhaka and Ceballos does not feel powerful enough. It could be a City-style midfield with Gundogan deep but would really need to be able to dominate possession for the team to survive.

That's what I'm thinking as well, but also why I'm disappointed in this rumour as it may mean we've given up on Partey.

If Partey gone he's gone, Edu and Mikel need to find other options. I'd love Partey here but he always seemed a bit out of reach.

I'd happily take Jorginho under any conditions if Chelsea are dumb enough to get rid of him.

Yes it fits everything his said and the huge majority of articles about him. He wanted to return to betis its 10m deal wages and fee and they can't afford that so here he is. It doesn't mean that he does like us we know he'd prefer to be playing for real or barca or betis. But were still probabky high on his list. He was pottering around in his betis shirt until they couldn't afford to bring him back.

A Spanish player having a preference to play in spain isn't  a big shock.

The only way I see Xhaka and Jorginho starting together is if Arteta wanted to play both in a left foot - right foot Double Pivot with an advanced player ahead of them, and if he considered Ceballos to be one of those options because he can create both on and off the ball.

Paris St-Germain have been in touch with Chelsea over signing Italy midfielder Jorginho, 28, on loan. (Telefoot, via Mail)

There’s no situation i wouldn’t take Jorginho on loan. You can’t have too many technically strong players so I don’t really see any downside.

I think we see this as an alternative to Partey. A ball progressor from deep.

the more technically capable players the better.

I think while slightly harsh, Jorginho is underwhelming.

Under a different system and manager, he could rediscover his Napoli form, and really help us control possession, but this has to really be calibrated carefully. He needs to come in as one of a number of midfielders.

I have said it before, Jorginho next to Xhaka and let say Ceballos, and we go nowhere. He and Xhaka would be laughably bad together as a double pivot in a 4-3-3.

Maybe together in the 3-4-3 they would be okay, but the idea was to try and transition back to a 4-3-3. Jorginho doesn’t do that by himself.

I really don't like Jorginho. Such an unexciting footballer for me.

Pretty ambivalent as well. Tidy player but always looks a bit out of his depth physically, and prone to going missing

I think Jorginho suffers from preconceived opinions mostly. He struggled to adapt for half a season when he arrived in England but he's been very good since then. If I'd ask people who they thought were the better player out of him and Kante I'm sure most would answer Kante, despite the fact that he hasn't been up to the standards of a starting midfielder for as long as Jorginho has been at Chelsea. There has been a carrying job in their midfield, and it's been happening on the back of this bloke.

I remember Jorginho in Italy before he matched up with Sarri, and he was a lot more dynamic player back then, often playing a box to box role. He's a few years older now but his legs seem as good as ever to me. I don't think there's much he can't do in a midfield. While he maybe doesn't fit the idea of the creative player we want he's a class above anyone we've currently got.

I think Jorginho could do a similar role to what Arteta did when he came to Arsenal. Pair him with someone a bit more dynamic like Partey and a creative player like Aouar, and that would be quite a complete midfield.

Ray, that sounds good. My objection to Jorginho is not the quality of the man. It’s why do I want Jorginho when I have Xhaka? I’d you told me that Xhaka was going to sit and that this one legged Sangare guy was also going to come to join Ceballos, then I would sit up and listen. But I’m worried about squad construction.

Watching Spurs Chelsea at the moment and it’s only been 25 mins but Jorginho is completely running the show for Chelsea.
