Liverpool press is hard for any team to break down. Even then I thought we lacked intent. Their equaliser came too soon after our goal, they never needed to force the issue.

Although this was a clown team selection by Arteta, I don't think Saka, Ceballos and Gabriel would have made much difference. Liverpool are so far ahead of us it's just sad. They're toying with us atm.

The idea that Elneny does more defensively is nonsense too. Elneny has never been good defensively, people seem to think a couple of good preseason games means he's a totally different player.

It’s worth watching the Community shield. From around 45 to 60 min Liverpool start pressing and they completely outclass us. When they turn it on they are a different tier to us.

It's so difficult for him to pass anything other than sideways or backwards

He combines that with zero tackling ability, zero positional sense and no productivity.

Nothing footballer.

Cazorla used to average more tackles than him back in the day from the CM position.

It's odd how anyone can think Elneny is anywhere near good enough to play for what is supposed to be a top four team. He shouldn't even be in the squad. Just an all-round bad footballer.
